Ready To Be Stupid

It was normal to be excited to share something with someone. Especially if that something, was something huge.

Sitting there, and staring at all three of them converse- only made me want to spill my guts even more. The more they laughed, and chatted- the more my mouth started to unwind.

I had managed to not say anything about Caleb yesterday. I wasn't sure how they would have taken it. Would they be happy, and support me? Would be they be mad and refuse to let me see him anymore? Would they not even care, and I realize that there was literally no point in me stressing out about it?

I didn't really care anymore. What happened between Caleb and I made me happy- and what makes me happy deserves to be shared with the ones I care for the most. Besides, if they were really my best friends, they'd support me and my decisions no matter what.

"Caleb Dixon told me he wanted me." I blurted out, completely unaware of who I just cut off, or what they were blabbing on about in the first place.

All three of their mouths had dropped open. They were shocked, great. Now, It's either a good kind of shock- or the bad kind. Let's take a vote ladies and gentleman, was I going to get praise, or an earful?

Kelsey and Bridget both looked to each other, before wide smiles engulfed their faces.

"Shut up!" Bridget playfully slapped my wrist.

"You're joking!" Kelsey added.

"You're insane!" Heather scolded, the only frown within this perimeter belonging to her.

Kelsey swatted at Heather, "Ignore her- tell me how it went down!"

"Well-" I began, searching around to make sure nobody harmful could hear what I was saying, "Yesterday when I came back for my flannel, I accidentally bumped into him. He picked up my books, and we had some kind of conversation-"

"And the he told you he wanted you!?" Bridget chimed in.

I squinted my eyes towards her, "Um- no, not yet."

She shrugged, and I just continued on with my story. "Anyways- get this. While I was at work, Caleb came in with Lacey Anderson. She ended up being a complete bi-"

"-tter person!" Kelsey gave me the eye- the eye that meant watch your language. I had forgotten about her hate for swearing.

I flashed her an apologetic smile, "Sorry- I forgot."

"That's okay," She sighed, "Continue."

"It was just weird-" I said, recalling the events of last night. A small, genuine smile appeared on my face. "After she spilt water all over me, he told her to leave. And even after she was gone, he stayed. He helped me clean up, and then asked if I'd sit with him. I mean, obviously I did- because at the time, he was Caleb freaking Dixon. But then we got to talking, and all of the glory that I held over his name, disappeared. He became a real person to me, and I don't know- I liked it."

My mind trailed off to seeing him walk in last night. I couldn't believe he was even there in the first place- but when he ditched Lacey to hang with me, everything just felt different. Caleb felt just like a friend- only, one I had a small attraction for. I knew Caleb and I were unrealistic- because look at him compared to me. But it still felt... right. All I wanted, was to have that again.

Where could I get that again?

Bridget and Kelsey both awed as I slowly came back to earth. I was glad they accepted it- but Heather didn't look as pleased.
