Steve Harrington was an asshole— no, asshole was too nice. Dick. He was the biggest dick in Hawkins. Well technically he was the second biggest dick in Hawkin's — Vada couldn't forget Ted Wheeler. Well. Tommy and Carol were pretty nasty. So fourth. Yeah. Steve Harrington ranked number four in Vada's not so secret list of 'Dicks: a chronicle of the assholes and shitheads that make this town insufferable'.

Vada glanced at the watch that was tied around her wrist and sighed — balls. She was gonna have to ride her bike to school. All because Heather decided that today was the day she was gonna skip town instead of waiting like a normal rebellious teen until Halloween night. Her choices to transport were either hitch a ride with her father and endure a solid fifteen minutes of 'why punk music was a sin and why Vada should listen to more Dolly Parton instead of The Clash or ride her beat up (and way too small) bike to school. Her car was still in repo after her little stunt of spending a night in jail. To be frank her parents still haven't forgave her — and that was months ago.

So last night Vada racked her brain for someone who she liked well enough to get a ride from. Hopper? No, she was still on probation for quote unquote abusing his power.

 ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆

All she did was talk one of his deputies into letting her borrow one of their police cars and pretend to arrest Nancy Wheeler as a joke. That wasn't abusing Hopper's power — it was Vada trying to cheer up an angsty preteen. Mike was a bundle of pent up anger and depression, far more than a kid his age should have to deal with. It was a particularly boring Saturday night at the Wheelers house, where Vada was forced to watch The Fox and The Hounds three times with the youngest Wheeler kid. Vada had watched that movie so many times in the last few months that she could probably recite the whole movie without even blinking. Once Holly was safely tucked in bed Vada realized she still had two hours to kill until Karen and Ted would be home. Mike vanished straight after his parents left at four, claiming he had a bunch of school work to do. It was almost nine and he still hasn't made a peep.

Vada should of expected that Mike would be in that fort, Supercom in hand. His voice was soft and barely audible but Vada was sure she heard him mumble El and I miss you but didn't comment on it. Even if she wanted to. Even if she wanted to hook him up to a lie detector machine and ask him, for the millionth time, if he knew anything about Hawkins Lab just to see if he would finally tell the truth.
