Chapter 4

When Aleks said he was auditioning people for being a singer he was not joking. In the lunch area there was a huge line of girls auditioning so I would hear stupid off key voices everywhere. I saw 4 boys it was Aleks, Even, Kevin, and.. Frank?! How did Frank suddenly become friends with Aleks? Whatever, this isn't my business anyways.

While I walked passed the group of girls someone called me out.

"Griffin! Here to audition?" Aleks said smiling

" Fuck off Aleks." I said while walking out of the cafeteria. It was too noisy to eat lunch there anyways.

I went to one of the rooftops of the school. Nice and quite. Usually when I'm here, I'm probably on my phone or doing my late homework. For some reason the side of my stomach started hurting really bad.

"Whatever it's probably because I'm hungry" I said

While eating my mom's poorly made sandwich I heard someone coming up the stairs. Unusual because people don't come up here, it's kinda a 'me' space.

The person had shoulder length black hair and a piercing on his lip, it was Frank.

"What are you doing here Kellin?" He asked

"This is kinda my spot. What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with your band for auditions? How did you even become friends with Aleks?" I asked very curiously.

"Well first of all I'm wondering the school, second of all we are taking a break from all the banshees' screaming, and lastly.." He paused " if you are so curious about how I am in Entrance to Hell's band is that me and Aleks knew each other. He's actually my best friend. I've known him since elementary school, I left in middle school to New Jersey because my mom got a job offer there so we moved. Some bad things happened after that...and that's the reason why I'm back here."

Frank looked very frustrated that I brought up the topic so I didn't ask anymore questions after that. Silence took over and laid an awkward barrier around us.

"So-" As I started my sentence Frank cut me off.

"I've gotta go, Aleks is starting the auditions again. Um I'll see ya later Neighbor." He said getting up

"Bye Frank" I said looking down at my sandwich again.

When he was about to leave he stopped and said "Hey Kellin" He hesitated to say " I think you should really audition. I would like to hear you sing." He smiled and finally left.

Once he left I resumed eating my sandwich and plugged my earbuds and I drifted into the land of my thoughts ignoring the pain in my stomach.

The school day has ended and the teenagers are rushing out of the school. Throughout the school day my stomach is still hurting like crazy, but I've never bothered to go to the nurse.

I grabbed my skateboard from the storage area next to my last period class and left the school.

While skating home I was thinking about what Frank and Aleks had said about joining their band. I not good at singing to what I think. Well I never actually sung in front of anyone, but still I don't know why they think I would be good at singing.

"Ugh! I don't know!" I shouted, in the midst of shouting that I crashed into a pole. By how fast I was skating I hit the pole really hard.

"Ugh my head..." I got up and saw my board broken. "I guess I'm not gonna ride this thing again, you were a good friend Sam." Yes I did name my board. I picked my board and I felt some liquid trailing down my forehead. I touched it and it was red.

Shit, it was blood. I felt a little woozy. I was trying to grab my phone in my pocket but the concussion took over and made me pass out.

Everything was black.

My eyes lazily opened. My head had a giant bandage on it, also my pain in my stomach didn't hurt anymore but it felt really sore. I looked around and I saw I was in a hospital. I had an IV stuck into my arm. Did I really lose that much blood? I looked to my side and someone was sleeping on the couch. It was a boy. Not one of my family members it was a boy. Who was it?

"Hey..." I said quietly. He didn't hear me. I've must've been here for a while for him to fall asleep.

I was about to get out of the hospital bed to see the person who brought me here, but the nurse came in.

"Oh no no no! You need to get your rest Miss Griffin. So stay in your bed" she said and walked me back to my bed.

"What happened to me? Why am I in the hospital?" I asked

"Well you had a really bad concussion when you hit that pole also it had a sharp piece of metal on it so it caused you to bleed a lot, but then that sweet boy found you and brought you to the hospital. You lost a fair amount of blood,but when you got here we found out that your appendix was about to burst so we took care of your head and then quickly operated surgery." She explained.

"I-I had surgery?!"I softly screamed. Due to my loudness the boy on the couch woke up and took his hood off and his messy brown hair fell out.

"I see you woke up." Aleks smirked.
