PROMISE TO BE YOURS

CHAPTER 9

The Gupta household slowly got back on its feed. Mahesh and Mukesh were getting ready to go back with their families promising to come back more often to check on their mother. JRS knew he could never leave the Gupta family to tend for themselves. He had to make sure that Radhika and Mihil were well taken care of. At a time when he needed support Gupta and Radhika stood staunchly by his side. SRS tempted them with so much and more but they always opted out to standby him when all he had in this world was a engineering certificate and infant son. Raghav would have never had a good upbringing if Radhika had not taken things into her hands and guided him though life. She gave the same attention and affection she gave her boys to him. A falter in her happened only when Raghav wanted Rudhi exclusively for himself and JRS did not blame her.

JRS was not very happy with the manner in which Shanika was taking over the Gupta household but he thought it was too soon to jump to conclusion. Meanwhile he stood aside and watched Radhika spending almost all her time tending to Shanika and the unborn child. JRS decided to talk to Raghav and Rudhi about handing over the running of the household matter so Mihil. Rudhi was skeptical but Raghav thought everyone should be given a chance to change. Mihil hesitated but agreed when Raghav said he will support and JRS promised to give him an assistant to help him. This made Radhika very happy and she was of the opinion that Shanika could take over after delivery. JRS knew this was not the time to say he did not agree with that decision so he kept silent.

Rudhi was supposed to start her internship which had to be postponed due to the double funeral in the family. She had got a remote village but JRS was trying to get a hospital closer to home so she could travel to work from home. The absence of Gupta was felt but things were slowly crawling back into place in the mansion and Gupta household. Rudhi started her internship and Raghav helped her to find a place close to the hospital. He was very disturbed that she had to go even further now and insisted that JRS should do something to get the internship transferred. Raghav used every little excuse to meet Rudhi. JRS teased him when he saw Raghav packing his bags on Friday. As soon as work was over he would zoom out on his sports car to meet Rudhi. She had weird shifts but he would make sure there was a hot meal waiting for her when she arrived home. Rudhi worked without a break during the week so she could take her offs during the weekend when Raghav came to see her.

Raghav and Rudhi made sure they had a relaxed and love filled weekends. Raghav always held her in his arms when she went to sleep. Hugging her or pulling her close to his body in his sleep was habit. When he was with her she always opened her eyes to a possessively hugging Raghav. She was always comfortably tucked into his body and she spent hours looking at him if she woke before him. He was very possessive if anyone tried to get her attention or get close to her. Rudhi naturally is a beautiful girl and attracted attention where ever she went. Her friends and people close to her knew she had eyes only for her Raghav but if anyone did try to get close to her Raghav was there with all battle gear out. Rudhi always laughed and teased him about his possessiveness. "Raghav you are behaving like a kid with his favorite toy" "favorite, most loved and exclusively mine yes but definitely not a toy my dear madam" "this is why I keep calling you Stupid Singhania" "I prefer to be stupid than someone taking you away from me" "okay what happens if I accidently die, will you still be like this or find another woman"

Since Rudhi was a baby Raghav has never got angry or upset or freaked out on her except when JRS told she brought a boy to introduce to him. Rudhi was in for a shock when Raghav was upset about her joke about dying". No amount of apologizing or begging to forgive helped. She tried for two full days and finally gave up. He was sleeping on the couch when he heard her crying. His heart broke. He could never see his princess in tears so he walked to the bed and gathered her in his arms and went back to the sofa with her. He kept her on his lap and tucked her face in the crook of his neck while she cried herself to sleep. When Rudhi woke up she was in her bed with Raghav hugging her close to him. She understood his anger as she knew how much he loved her and a life without each other could not be even fathomed. That Sunday JRS joined them and all three spent the day together. JRS had found some disturbing news about Mohan's death but it was too early to mention anything so he decided to keep the information to him. 

A/N: Over confidence in one's self is as bad as under estimating others.......both these qualities have a way of kicking you in the butt.
