Epilogue
Once... long ago in the kingdom of Ciralith they're laid a prophecy, for the coming of the king and queens two children. In the prophecy it stated bet they will bare a son and daughter, and both will hold the powers of either the sun or moon. Not only will they get those powers but when they reach the age of 18, both the kids will have to marry. The king and queen were overjoyed with the news, not knowing that beyond the kingdom somebody wants those powers, and will do anything to get their hands on it.
Of course time went on though, and the children got older. The son got the powers of the sun, and the daughter got the moon. Sky and Aletha were their names, and while they were kids the prophecy was hidden from them by their parents. The king and queen wanted them to have a normal life for a while.
Sky had the features of a beautiful golden ray, and Aletha beheld the beauty of the night sky. One of light, the other of darkness, two completely different people. At the age of 10 they found out about their true selves, but with that the danger started coming. People outside of the kingdom started attacking trying to get their way inside the castle to the children.
The king and queen decided that they had to send their kids to another world; the mortal world, to keep them safe. Before they sent them, each parent gave the child a necklace, one of a moon and the other a sun.Just before the attackers storm into the throne, the kings wise and trusted wizard created a portal where he took the kids and Eddie, the main guard with him. Once the portal was closed everything of the kids past was erased from their minds and from then on they started their new lives in a city called Miami, Florida.
Chapter 1
"Rise and shine Aletha today's a big day", said Jacqueline, pulling open the curtains. When the bright rays of the sun reached my face I cringed and ducked my head under the pillows. She was my main maid and was in her fifties but acted and looked so young.
"Oh come on now it's a beautiful day and don't forget the party's tonight. You should be excited about that", she said taking the covers and pillows off of me. I groaned. I sat up anyway, trying to get my eyes use to the bright light. The weird thing about me that I will tell you is, I do not like the sun or day what so ever. Sky loves it, but me no. I like the night especially when the moon is out. So, everyday I have no energy and I am very tired, but when night hits, it's like I drank 10 cups of coffee. I am just so hyper and active; Sky's the opposite though. I found it weird after a while and ask our parent guardian, Cyrus, about it but he shrugs it off every time.
"Who's going to be at the party this time", I asked through a yawn. Cyrus always has these parties where different people come and have the time of their lives; I guess. Alot of the times me and Sky don't know the people, but Cyrus always makes us get out there and talk with people our age. I mean God it's like he want's us to find a husband or wife most of the time. Ridiculous.
"Oh who knows", Jacqueline said, dusting my room. "It's Cyrus, he invites anybody he knows". She finished dusting, saw me get out of bed, and headed to my closet full of clothes.
"You know sometimes I feel like they don't even live in this world, the people he invites. You know what I mean?", I said looking out towards the beach. In the corner of my right eye I saw Jacqueline still, and I turned my head towards her.
" Are you alright?", I asked looking at her with concerned eyes.
" It was just a stupid feeling, I mean there's no such thing as another world", I laughed alittle and walk to my full stocked vanity. I heard Jacqueline laugh nervously while pulling out a strapless sun dress ( go figure) and sandals. She walked over towards me and gave the clothes to me.
"Of course not, thats silly, another world please", she said laughing again, her former composure back. She left walking towards the door and said over her shoulder
"Hurry up now everybody's in the dining room already, and eating breakfast". I watched her close my door and the one thing that popped into my head, well two things about the conversation we just had was: weird and strange.
