Chapter 5

                 Ugh I hate parties. After awhile of attending them I have just gotten tired of it. Whether I like it or not I still have to attend, for the sake of Sky that is. I finally just got finished dressing and am about to put makeup on. I am wearing a long strapless green dress with black heels. Oh how I wish I didn't have to wear these stupid things. I hate heels with a passion. I can barley walk in them and they hurt my feet at the end of the night. Before I could change my mind to wear flats a knock sounded at my door.

*knock knock*

 *Come in*, I yell. The door opens and walks in Jacqueline wearing her usual maid dress.

  *Oh Aletha thank God you are ready. Cyrus has been on my high end asking me if you were ready*, while talking she walks over to me and helps me put my hair up in pins. *Thanks Jac*, I look myself in the mirror to see if I am fully ready. After a couple of seconds I turn to Jacqueline who is closing my closet door and say *I am ready now*.

*Good. Now let's go, everybody ready down there, ready*, she say's while walking to my door. *Are people starting to arrive*, I ask her. She looks over her shoulder and says *Yes honey*.

               I love when she say's things like honey and etc. it makes me feel like I have a mom again. I walk out with her, closing my door behind me and following her downstairs where a lot of people were roaming around. We go our separate ways and I try to find my brother. I walk into the study, that over looks the ocean, and find my brother talking to Cyrus and another older guy. I walk up to them,Sky already spotting me, smiles.

*Hey where have you been all day*, he asks. *Well I was talking to Eddie earlier then I started getting ready. Speaking of which where is he?*, I ask looking around the study where few people were at. *He's with the security guards at the front door*, Sky says now looking at Cyrus who by now is walking over towards us with the other guy following behind.

*Aletha!*, he says, *I have been looking for you everywhere today*. *Sorry uncle I have just been extremely busy today*, Sky coughs knowing this is a total lie. Cyrus looks back and forth to us, then realizing that there is another guy with us. *Oh Aletha were are my manners this here is one of dear old friends Drake, Drake this is my niece Aletha*.

                  I do got to admit he is good-looking in an older man kind of sense. He almost looks like me with the jet black hair and the blue eyes. He has short hair and looks to be about 6 foot 2. I stick out my hand for a handshake. *Hello Drake it is a pleasure meeting you*, I fake smile already anxious to leave. He shakes my hand firmly *It's nice to meet you too Aletha*, His hand drops back to his side and he smiles back at me.

*Drake will be staying with us for a couple of days, maybe a week*, Cyrus says. Me and Sky both exchange looks. We both know Cyrus doesn't invite people to stay with us unless it's very important. Sky was the first to turn back to them and smile. *That will be wonder. I hope we can have a good time*, this time it was Cyrus and Drake's turn to look at each other.

              After what seemed like an eternity Sky excused us from the conversation and we walked back out into the crowd. It took us forever to get to the front door, for people kept getting in our way or was pushing us around. I spotted Eddie and dragged Sky over to where he is. *Hey Eddie*, I say finally reaching him. *Hi Eddie*, Sky says. *Hey! What are you guys doing over here. Shouldn't you be out mingling or whatever kids do these days*, he says making me laugh. Sky just raised an eyebrow giving him the what-the-hell-are-you-going-on-about.  *We are not kids Eddie*, I say after I was done laughing. *Oh yea*, he laughs nervously *I keep forgetting that you guys remember everything*, he scratches the back of his neck. * It's alright Eddie*, I pat his shoulder while watching Sky look away. Why can't Sky understand that Uncle Cyrus put a block on our minds for a reason. 

                 Before I could say anything, there was a loud crash and then a scream. Me and Sky jumped while Eddie and the security guards were rushing into the dinning hall where it seemed the commotion was coming from. Jacqueline came running out to us along with Uncle and Drake. Everybody in the house was in a state of panic. *Uncle what is going on*, Sky asked. * I need you to take them to the safe house*, he told Jacqueline, ignoring Sky's question.  We heard more screaming and what sounded like a fight. *Hello what is going on*, sky asked again, getting more impatient by the minute. *I don't have time to explain just follow Jacqueline and listen to her*, Uncle said. * What about you uncle*, I asked. *Don't worry about me just go*.

               Now people were running out of the house. Jacqueline was pushing me and Sky along with everybody else out the door. I looked back to see uncle but he had disappeared along with Drake. Little did I know that certain people found out about us, about our powers. A car pulled up at the house gate and we got in. It headed in a direction me and Sky didn't know.
