LOVE: Battle, Risks, and Growing Up

Chapter 4

AIREN AND others who are from their province started to dance to the beat of the music that was played by Julian's band. When twelve midnight is nearly approaching, Julian's band are already tired of playing instruments and it seems that the vocalist haven't conditioned his vocal chords that's why the band decided to play MP3 music in substitute to the live band. This set-up is ok for manong Jeff's fiancé so that the band will also dance to the ladies from Jeff's province.

Julian noticed Airen who was enjoying the dance who entered the kitchen to prepare a coffee for the ladies that she was along with. Julian doesn't know why his sight was stuck to Airen. Like only this time that he knew a lady who was like her who seems to be kind-hearted, modest movements and most of all wise and sophisticated. When Airen walked in his front, he noticed himself like an idiot.

"Oh! Julian! Stop yourself. You are starting again. You have problems to face and no time for this. You only came here because your band is hired." Julian thought himself then he stand and went to the corner where his band was seated and having a drink. Julian didn't mind of having a drink so that he can avoid himself imagining about Airen.

After an hour, Julian can't still forget Airen. He wanted to held her in his arms, to dance with her that's why he hurriedly went where Airen was sitting to ask her hands for a dance.

Airen don't know what to do when Julian was asking her hand for a dance. She was afraid because it looks like that Julian is from rehabilitation center but Airen hates to offend anyone that's why even she doesn't want to, she agreed to dance.

"Hey! Are you drunk? Are you okay?" Airen asked.

"Ahm. Yes. A little bit. I'm sorry." Julian answered.

Airen didn't talk already when she knew he was drunk. She waited for him to talk first. She felt really weird, she wanted to leave him on the dance floor but his touch makes her stay.

"Miss, may I know your name? I noticed that you are the only one who is active from Jeff's province." Julian said.

"Ah! I am Airen. Yes, I noticed too. It's their first time here. They are shy. That's why." Airen replied. "What is your name?" Airen asked Julian.

"I am Julian, one of the band member. We temporarily play for MP3 music because our vocalist needs to rest his voice but tomorrow we will start to play live." Julian explained. "Miss Airen, can you please dance with me as much as I want?" Julian continued.

Airen felt bit offended but she agreed.

Airen don't know why she agreed to dance with Julian even though she felt weird. Airen notices that Julian closed his eyes while helding her. Airen also noticed that Julian was not that ugly. Julian possesses good looks behind his hermit-like looks. His face contour was perfect and manly, his lips was perfect but it seems that his eyes was full of sadness and worries. Airen wanted to hug Julian when she saw them in his eyes but she can't do it because there's something that pulls her not to do it.

"Julian? Can I go back to my seat. I am already tired and look! The two of us are only left here in the dance floor and they are watching us."

"Oh! I'm sorry that I tired you. I hope that this morning, we have again the chance to talk."

Airen nodded and went back to her seat.
