I am honestly very grateful for some people I have in my life. I never thought I would be saying this but it's Brittney. I called her earlier today and explained to her what had  been going on with me, now that Drew mentioned she was a witch. Since he can drive, he went to pick her. I owe her my whole life. I have been so mean, I feel like I don't deserve her, but it's not like I have other witch friends just lined up.

Drew was more than happy to go and get her. I really don't believe in this whole best friend dates brother policy. My life is not a movie. He's been gone for about thirty minutes, he should be on his way back. Sitting here on the couch doing nothing but hug my knees is as crappy as it sounds. I can't risk touching anything else. I may break my mom's cutlery, or worse an electronic and she may never forgive me for that.

She is oddly attached to them.As well as she is to everything else that has monetary value, except the stuff dad had brought because that went to flames. Don't just roll your eyes and imagine every other mom does that and I shouldn't try making mine special. She speaks to these things while she cleans them. I think that's dorky of her. And even if my kids ignored me full time, thanks to the internet and technology, I wouldn't be that sad.

"Hi! You're here!" I exclaim when Britt walks in.

I have been rehearsing that metres from my mom's bedroom mirror. It didn't break. I may have done some gloss and mascara. She's always in perfect makeup and makes me look bad. I also said something about us being similar which makes us a perfect combination of best friends. Which is quite the opposite I just had to tell her that. Now am trying to look like I meant the words. My hair isn't that great.

We hug ofcourse all girlie and noisy and squeeky till Drew finds his way to his room. Its when she stops and checks him out.She hugs so tight my ribs hurt and the first broken thing I want to repair when am done with her are my ribs... If I can do that.

"Drew isn't really your brother, is he? " She asks whispering once he exits the room. My eyebrows  thicken in surprise. I invite her to help me with whatever this is when she asks me that. I hope that will link.

"He is my broth...Ok, he's adopted, why do you ask? " I confirm whispering as well.

"Nothing personal. What's your mom's name? " She gives me a nod to encourage me to answer her weird question, but then, I need her help and like I said, I hope it will link.

"Julianna Reeds. " I answer her. Now I expect her to just keep asking questions like that.

"Has she lived here before? " Her eyes are all lit as if she's just solved a case. She's brightening up in recognition.

"I am honestly not sure I would like to continue answering these questions...no, she has never been here. Why don't we just skip to the explanation part. " My voice is  really shaky. You'd get it if you were in my place.

She gives me a long stare, comparing herself to me. She even compares the texture of her hair and mine which I now think is offensive. Especially since hers is black and perfect and mine isn't exactly that right now. What is she comparing anyway?

"I need to know a small bit of your history before I can tell what's wrong with you..." She finally explains herself. " You,  my dear are a witch. A very powerful witch, you need to be careful. You're probably just experiencing this now because these abilities start to reveal themselves when you're responsible enough to handle them. You'll need to stick with me for a very long time and learn how it's done. " she's suddenly talking too fast and texting someone. I think she's about to leave.

"Okay... What if... "

"Rulia, you're my sister  I love being friends with you but I have to rush home. " She cuts me short and gets up from the couch.
