//Rulia //
Long day at school.Hanging out with Max, Drew and my mom should be on their way back from Nerdon, I couldn't go with them. I was sharing my piece of mind with Stephy and Robert.
The door isn't locked. The cars are both parked in the compound next to each other. Drew is officially my brother. Finally! Been putting up with him hoping that the realization that we are actually relatives it magically cuts it. The whole of it.
Well, no party or anything major. I don't like this. The house is so chill. It's cold and uncomfortable. See when my gut turns this thoroughly, I know something is not in place. I hope its not going to get bloody or crazy.
"Hello?" I call out. My mom's laptop is on and her reading glasses cracked on the floor. Her chair is also upside down. Not to be a detective but she's been moved using serious force. Her spectacle case is thrown on the staircase. Something really strange is going on.
"Mom, Drew! Anybody wanna tell me what's happening? " I walk upstairs, not thinking. Anything could be happening.
"This is crazy, listen, you don't have to do this! " That's my mom. She is crying. I pick up my pace rushing through that flight of stairs at half vamp speed. The muffled voice of my crying mom. She sounds really scared. The noise is coming from Drew's bedroom.
I rush in only to find out the mysterious door that happens to be in his room is wide open. It's an attic. Who still has those? Unless they are serial killers or psychopaths and right now am not sure if Drew is one or the other.
My mom is tied to a chair with some rope. She's not hurt. There's also a father, standing next to Drew. He looks like he's sleep walking the whole time. Compulsion. And this room has got photos of me everywhere!
"What is going on here Drew and why does this look like a Rulia shrine? "I ask, looking around. He's got more photos of me than I do. He has my freaking ultra sound! So he really is sick! Very sick.
"It is not a shrine. It's a place I come to embrace you and watch my troubles go away. But to answer your question, you are the religion. " I never find semantics to be interesting, especially not now. This is a goddamned shrine I can very well see that.
"Why is he here Drew? Why are you suited up? "There's a million questions to ask right now. I just picked out the most burning ones. You know,for starters.
"we are getting your mother's blessings to get married. " He announces with a wide grin splitting across his face. "Romantic isn't it. "
I am probably the least equipped human being with issues that concern relationships and that is not being blamed on anyone. But his definition of romance is so bent I don't even want to get into it.
"You are a part of this too?" I ask the father.
"He doesn't have a choice. He is compelled. "Drew throws a dress at my face. A strapless wedding gown. It's not even adorable. I have never wanted to get married. Not like this. Definitely not like this.
I always believed I would say no even to a proposal in Disney land."Get changed. We don't have much time. " He is adjusting his cufflings.
He can't be serious. I don't love him like that. I hate this dress is feels like plastic on my skin and I don't know where it's from. Am not playing this kind of game. See our family is quite right. He is the problem. He needs to go. I think my mom and I knew that all along but kept pushing it aside. He didn't seem harmful.
"After everything we have all been through? After everything my mom and I have done for you Drew, this is how you choose to repay us? No wonder other families did not want you. We just really thought we could help you through it?"
