"But maybe, Frisk. With what little power you have... you can Save someone else?"

Chara's dead body awoke. They smiled at Frisk, waved, and laid down into their eternal sleep once more.

Frisk sat up in tears once more. It had been a 2 almost 3 years since Sans, Asriel and Chara had died. Frisk was graduating high school in less than 2 months.

There was some good news. With almost 2 years worth of research, Alphys and a bunch of human scientists were able to bring back Sans and Asriel. But reincarnating a human was out of the question.

Chara was still dead.

Frisk started to cry. They hadn't cried in a long time.

As soon as Chara's funeral was over, Frisk's Soul turned cold. They stopped caring about school. It was a miracle they were graduating. They went to more ambassador meetings, blocking everyone out with work. MK didn't come over for dinner as much. They stopped having their annual anime nights with Undyne and Alphys. Toriel stopped making so many pies.

When everyone died, not just Frisk had broken. Their family had broken as well.

Frisk's sobs got louder. Asriel and Flowey came in, yawning.

"Frisk? Are you... oh god, Frisk! You're crying... Here, come to Azzy."

Asriel came running over, Flowey clinging to his shoulder. The goat boy engulfed Frisk and Flowey in a big hug. It had been a long time since Frisk had hugged Asriel. They hugged him back with joy and sorrow. Their tears fell faster now.

After a few minutes, Asriel awkwardly said goodnight and they went back to their room, closing Frisk's door.

Frisk was once again alone. And this time in the dark.

After what was about 2 hours of crying and staring at the ceiling, Frisk checked the clock. 3 am.

"Ugh...."

They got out of bed and put on their favorite sweater and a pair of jeans with boots. They slipped out of the house in silence and walked towards the cemetery.

On the walk, it was very peaceful. It wasn't too cold, as it was mid May. Frisk walked through the park, stopping by the bridge.

This was where, about 4 years ago, Chara had first kissed Frisk in public. There was news about it for a week. Frisk chuckled at the memory and blushed.

As the child continued on, they stopped by the swings and sat down. This was where Sans had first told Frisk that he a Toriel were getting married, more than a year ago. This was when Frisk was just getting out of grief of Chara's death. Sans told Frisk that they were the first person they told. Even before Pappy.

They smiled. They had many more nice memories in this park.

But soon it would all be washed away.

As they reached the cemetery, they saw a shovel outside. Frisk grabbed it. They would need it.

They ran through the cemetery, almost closing their eyes. They had been there so many times, they actually knew the way to Chara's grave with their eyes closed.

Chara's grave was in the back right of the cemetery. It was by a bunch of Monsters' graves and Emily's father's grave as well. Dozens of flowers and burned out candles were scattered by their lover's grave. Frisk brought a new bouquet of flowers every Friday; Chara's favorite day of the week.

They started digging immediately. It only took about 40 minutes for the casket to show. It wasn't buried deep- only six feet under.

They flung open the casket. Chara's body was resting peacefully. They were still wearing the same striped sweater and pants. A bouquet of golden flowers was in their pale hands.

Frisk couldn't believe it. They were still here! They weren't decaying or anything, either. Frisk leaned over and picked up Chara's body, the flowers falling out of their hands.

Chara felt like deadweight. Well, duh. Frisk thought. They're dead.

Now, let's head out.

***

They carried Chara about a mile to where the Cliff was. It was the same cliff that Chara had jumped down a few years ago. The same cliff that Sans had saved them from. The same cliff where Chara had told Frisk they were planning to cut themselves again.

But Frisk had Saved them then.

Now it was Chara's turn to Save Frisk.

***

Frisk sat near the edge, but not too close. They laid Chara down in their lap.

They opened the miniature home screen. Two buttons appeared.

Continue.

And...

Reset.

Frisk sighed. They kept their home screen open, Chara in their lap.

Frisk smiled in sadness. They couldn't live like this anymore. They were being separated from their friends by continuous grief. They had to get Chara back.

And they knew the way how.

Frisk kissed Chara's cold forehead. They looked at the Continue and smiled.

Then they looked at the Reset button. They chuckled to themselves.

"Sorry, Sans. This is why I never make promises."

They smiled to themselves, squeezed Chara's lifeless hand, and pressed the Reset button.
