The Swordsman

A boy walked through a forest,
A blue blade clinking on his back as he walked.
The boy was tracking a creature,
A dragon, that had slaughtered an entire village.
He followed the footprints and followed the scent,
Meeting new friends and enemies along
The way.
He traveled around the land and trained,
Sharpening his skills until the day
That he'd have to fight the deadly beast.

It took the boy three years.
Three long years for the boy, now aged 17, to track the beast.
He drew his sword, its chilling blade giving off steam in the heat of the thick
Summer air.
He charged the dragon,
Its black wings spreading, and flames blowing from deep in its belly.
The boy leapt into the air, and sliced down with a loud snap.
The beast ceased to move.
The boy woke up from his dream, and realized that
He was finally a man.

From last year, probably my last "poem" for the time being (I'm bad at writing poetry)
