Ch. 1 - Wulv

I looked ahead of me, staring at my newest companion. She is rather tiny, definitely shorter than I am. Chern would probably like her... that idiotic son of a bitch. My best friend at the same time.

I just kept trudging along, keeping an eye out for thieves and assassins. People are after mages currently, due to their power and intelligence. Alchemists can sometimes be mistaken for mages, and are often killed once they are discovered to be fakes. The country of Edowood is extremely brutal now, due to the war between them and Ualbov, a country to the far south.

The tavern came into view, the comforting glow of the lanterns outside lighting up the worn, wooden door. Tir stopped once she reached the door, and I opened it up for the both of us. She entered first, her eyes darting around the single-roomed bar area. There was a set of stairs leading up to the rented rooms, no laterns lit up yet.

I sighed, "Home sweet home. Go find a place to sit, Tir."

She replied, "I will be back." Tir slowly walked to the bar, and sat down on a stool about two-thirds of her height. She tapped her fingers on the counter, waiting to be asked about a drink and some food.

As some time passed, the bartender asked her what she wanted to drink. Tir ordered some apple ale and a berry tart. She rented a room soon after, bringing her food upstairs to her room.
