"Sis! You got mail!" Maria yelled walking into my house.
It's Friday, and she doesn't have any classes today, and I don't have work.
"Great! I'm in my office!" I called back before she walked in and handed me the stack.
"So, anything interesting?" She asked leaning up against my desk before I stood up shocked.
"They came!" I exclaimed before ripping open the envelope.
"What came?" She asked confused.
"OUR TICKETS TO ORLANDO!" I exclaimed happily before handing her hers as I read the letter. (Fair warning, I don't actually know how this stuff goes...)
Dear Layla Drucker,
Hey there! This is Geoff writing to you to tell you congrats and thank you for being a patron! You have continuously shown your support for six and a half months now, and each month you've given us a way too generous amount of $1,000. We can't express how happy and grateful we are, but as advertised on our Patreon account, here is your ticket, along with a friend's ticket, to Orlando, Florida. You leave on the 14th, so I hope these get to you in time. Have safe travels! Oh! And since Tony has moved out of the group house that he watched over, you and your guest will be staying in his old room. We've put two beds in there so don't worry. That's it! Safe flight! We'll be at the airport to pick you up, just text this number (it's mine) to let us know what you want us to write on the poster. Also send photos of you and your guest so we know who to look for. See ya soon!
Sincerely,
Geoff Castellucci
"OH MY GOD MARIA! GEOFF HAND WROTE ME A FUCKING LETTER! IT'S ALSO SO AWKWARD! I ALSO HAVE HIS NUMBER! MARIA! MY BASS SINGER WROTE A LETTER TO ME!" I screeched while jumping up and down happily.
"Calm down Layla! He probably writes all of the letters that get sent out for those they're flying out! Also, when are we leaving?" She asked.
"The 14th. What's today's date?" I replied before looking at my computer's clock to see it was the 14th. "Shit! Hand me the tickets!" I said before looking at the tickets to see we had 12 hours to be ready and at the airport boarding. "FUCK! Maria! Go back to your dorm and pack! Be back in 8 hours! We board in 12!" I added making her nod before hugging me and running out.
I was already packed, but I need my hair cut and dyed, so I quickly called my cousin.
"Hey, what do you need?" He asked as I heard him cutting someone's hair.
"I'm leaving in 12 hours, need to be ready in 8, can you cut and dye my hair in that amount of time?" I asked getting up and grabbing my wallet and keys while slipping my tennis shoes on.
"Of course! Get over here quick though! You're lucky I took the rest of the day off." He replied before I sighed happily.
"Thank you Constantine. I'll see you in a bit. Love you!" I smiled.
"Alright cousin. Love you too." He said before I hung up.
After the hair appointment I headed back to my apartment in just under 45 minutes left. It's 6:15pm and we board at 11:00pm sharp. Maria was already there waiting for me.
"Should we go ahead and go Ms. Tomato?" Maria asked as she sniggered at me.
"Shut up carrot top!" I exclaimed upset at the new nickname.
"Alright. But seriously, can we go ahead and go to the airport?" She asked making me nod.
"Let me go grab my suitcase and bag." I replied before running up to my room and throwing my phone, laptop, and camera chargers in the suitcase along with my laptop before I ran back downstairs and into my office to see Maria saving my progress and ejecting the SD card before placing it back in my camera and handing it to me. "Thank you." I smiled before we headed to my car.
