Sky sighed as he listened to the argument behind him.

"Mom! Ant's being annoying!"

"No I'm not!"

That was his little brother Ant and his little sister Alesa.

"Ant stop bothering her." Ms. Dahlberg sighed, clearly annoyed as she tried to keep her eyes on the road. Sky growled lowly, annoyed at his siblings bickering, and pressed the volume button on the side of his phone multiple times.

"Oh, I'm out of my mind. Ooh, I'm, not seeing things right, ooh." Sky sang quietly , trying to drown his siblings out of his mind.

"Stop singing." His brother growled, already annoyed at their two littler siblings behind them. That was Tyler, Sky's twin brother who was sitting two seats over.

Sky sighed, rolling his eyes and placing his phone on his lap.

"Hey Sky?"

Sky pressed pause, a little annoyed, turning around to be face-to-face with Ant. He made a small humming sound, signaling he was listening.

"Will you play tic-tac-toe with me?" Ant asked quietly, looking up at his older brother with hope. "Alesa won't and Tyler's ignoring me."

Sky nodded, pressing the power button on his phone and turning his body a it to get into a more comfortable position. Any beamed, opening  his backpack next to him to pull out his notebook and pen. Sky put his phone into his pocket; for later.

Sky looked over to Tyler, who was leaning his head against the cold car window. Tyler sighed, gaze shifting over to Sky with an annoyed glint.

"What are you staring at--"

"Enough bickering, I swear!" Ms. Dahlberg said firmly, angered and annoyed as she looked back at her kids. Alesa brought herself up, looking over Sky's shoulder at their mother. Ms. Dahlberg looked firmly at each of her kids, who were all staring at her. Then, suddenly, Alesa's eyes widened.

"Mommy!" Alesa yelled, pointing to the front of the car. Ms. Dahlberg turned around, meeting a car. She spun the steering wheel as quick as she could, the truck in front of them colliding with the car.

Sky gasped as the two cars hit one another, he ducked down, quickly unbuckling himself.

He fell to the ground of the vehicle and closed his eyes tight.

He heard gasps, screams, and cries as the other kids were injured, and he himself let out a pained gasp as the back of his head collided harshly with the plastic back of his mother's seat, but he kept his eyes shut. The car lurched, falling to its side. He moved his hands in front of his head, hands hitting the side of the car. The car stopped moving, and everything went silent as Sky slid fully back to the ground.

He turned and pushed himself up slowly, opening his eyes. He gasped at his siblings and mother.

His mother was lying limply on the steering wheel, blood pooling around her head. Alesa and Ant were limply hugging, cheeks wet as two poles (that Sky recognized were in the car earlier) stuck out of their small chests. Blood was slowly dripping from the corner of Alesa's mouth.

Then he looked at Tyler. Tyler's left side of his head was soaked in blood (probably because he smashed his head against the window), his glasses thrown to the side, cracked.

Sky covered his mouth, tears now running freely down his cheeks. He pushed himself away from the closest body, which was sadly Tyler's, his life-long best friend. His ears were ringing and his vision oddly blurred, though he couldn't tell if that was the tears fault or not. He looked up at the spot where the right hand car door was supposed to be (but wasn't), before he looked back at siblings and mother. He looked back at Tyler.

He stifled a sob as he moved Tyler's body around, taking his plaid grey and red jacket that had surprisingly not gotten any of Tyler's blood on it. He put it around himself, tears still falling steadily down his cheeks as he let out a silent sob. This would be the only thing left of his family. He looked next to Ant's dead body, finding a small purple duffle bag that belonged to his father once. It held food and water in it for the long trip.

He grabbed it before climbing out of the wrecked car.

He threw himself onto the bloody paved road, looking over to the truck. Through the front window he could see a small, red and skin colored blob. He felt sick as he realized it was an arm. The truck itself was on it's right side, blood splattered across the windows surrounding.

Sky stood up, looking at the wreck. A truck flipped over on it's right side with a dead man missing his arm. A car with four people; a mother, a 12-year-old boy, a 7-year-old, and a 6-year-old. The car not only missing the 12-year-old's twin, but that twin's father's duffle bag.

Sky let out a sob, before pulling his phone out of his pocket, a few scratches and cracks along the screen, and pressed the underlined Emergency button next to the basscode digits. It went to another dial pad, and he pressed 911 and the call button. He pressed speaker, setting down the phone.

"911, what's your emergency?"

Sky opened his mouth to speak, but his voice broke. Quickly, he sniffed, before bringing himself to respond. "There's been a wreck." Sky paused. "A truck and the Dahlberg family."

"Who am I speaking to?"

"Adam Dahlberg."

"Okay. It's going to be alright, honey. Where are you?"

"Interstate 63, halfway in. The truck's driver is dead and so is my family."

There was a pause.

"Okay, they're on their way. Who was in the crash?"

"I don't know the truck driver, but in the car was my mother, Tyler Dahlberg, Ant Venom-Dahlberg, and Alesa Nonsense."

"Okay, keep speaking to me. What happened?"

"You..." Sky paused. He couldn't stay. Not knowing he'd lived while they died. He couldn't keep his family name, the shame that came with it. "...you can find out yourself. I'm leaving."

The operator was seemingly shocked into silence, before she spoke quickly.

"Honey, the officers need information and the paramedics need to make sure you're alright--"

"No. I'm leaving. If anyone survived, tell them hello for me."

"Bu-"

Sky shook his head before turning around and running into the wooded area behind him.
