*Max's POV*

I have a death grip on the wheel and I can't get her sobbing off my mind. Who the hell could her such a wonderful person? Nobody knows her no matter how close they think they are. The guys think she's just some hot hick who knows her sports, while girls see her as some slutty, stuck up, popular bitch. She's not any of those things! But these fucked up assholes don't even bother to get to know her, they just believe what they think. They don't realize it themselves, but Blaire and Cassie don't even know her like I do! I am the only one who knows how many skeletons are in her closet. I'm the only one who knows how hard she tries to bury them.

Our friendship started when we were 5 years old and we both thought it would be funny to shove crayons up a kids nose. Yeah, yeah, that's not the point. Back then I could sense that she had some problems going on, I just didn't pry. Although along the way I was able to collect bits and pieces, I was 10 when she told me everything. Her father, her mother, everything.

*Flashback*

I lean into the wall of my treehouse with Keatyn crying in my arms. I go through the usual routine of stroking her hair and asking, "Do you want to talk about it?" but I am taken aback when she says "I'm ready to tell you why I cry like this so often." I wait patiently as she inhales and begins the painful speech. "My dad comes home drunk every night, there's no way you'd be able to say he isn't an alcoholic. He is always angry when he comes home and I never know why. Whenever he is angry he-h-he" And she shakes and sobs. "He beats my mom! He's never hurt me but he's always hurt her! What am I going to do Max? I can't keep letting this happen!" I sit there shocked trying to take this all in. "I don't know what you should do Keats, I really don't know." Sighing as an attempt to calm down she says, " I think I'm going to stay with my grandma for a while, you know that giant house down the street?" I nod listening intently "That's her's. Maybe if I stay there just for a year and a half, he won't be so angry anymore. Maybe he won't hurt my mom again. Maybe... I could have a family Max."

*End of Flashback.*

It's extremely painful to see people treat her like shit, knowing everything she's been through. She rarely wants to talk about it, but when she does it's quite a break down. The neon lights of the mini golf facility come into view and I soon pull up next to a beautiful girl with tear stained cheeks. Once we pull out of the parking lot, my skin is itching to know what happened. Given that her makeup is all over, I know he hit a soft spot. "What the hell did this asshole do to you? Will I be getting in a fight tonight?" I blurt out. Giggling she says, "No, he made a joke about women and I got upset about his disrespect and told him not to do it again." That's not so bad, why is she crying? "But-" Of course there's a but. Haha, butt. Focus Max, focus! "I heard him call me a bitch under his breath and I flipped out. I feel like such a bitch." I pull into her driveway and stop the car. "First of all don't because that dick deserved it." She laughs, "Second don't be hard on yourself, we all have our demons." She sends me a small smile before stepping out while fishing through her purse for her keys. She mutters a string of curse words while grabbing the spare from the Hide-Away. I instantly sprint down to the basement and run back up with the speakers, disco ball, and cotton candy and bubble machines. "What the hell?" She questions while I plug in my phone. "We are having our own party." Flashing a smirk, I put on my sunglasses and start singing to Keatyn's favorite song with her. "If you want a bad bitch like this, drop it low and pick it up just like this. Cup of Ace, cup of Goose, cup of Crys" A few verses later, she had on RayBans and a leather jacket waltzing into the room while swaying her hips and singing, "I'm so fancy, you already know! I'm in the fast lane, from LA to Tokyo. I'm so fancy, can't you taste this gold?" We both fall on the floor laughing, what an easy ab workout!

We ended up laying on the couch and watching Now You See Me because I wouldn't watch Mean Girls and she wouldn't watch Kick Ass. During the chase scene we ended up having b our cotton candy. When whoever the hell Dave Franco played 'died' Keatyn was balling. I responded with: "You know he's not dead, right?" And her reply was: "Shut the fuck up you spoiling son of a bitch." And these are some of the things I love about this girl.
