My name's Brianna Daniels, I'm the drummer of the band Shalter. I met the guys in highschool. We formed the band during my junior year. Aiden, our vocalist and was also playing the guitar with Dean and Shane the bass guitarist were all my seniors. Derek who plays the lead guitar was my classmate, my bestfriend and also Dean's younger brother. When the guys decided to form the band, the drummer spot was empty. I sat with them that lunch with Derek and I actually volunteered myself to be the drummer. Instead of being grateful the three of them just burst out laughing. I challenged them to a game of pool. If I win they'll gonna give me a shot and let me audition, if they win I'm gonna drop the idea of joining their band. It went well with me, I beat them three and they ended up letting me play. To make the long story short I was accepted to the band and pretty spend allot of time with the guys.
When the three graduated, Aiden's parents bought him a condo. Well, the guys stayed there like all the time. It became the band's condo.
I found myself flopped on the floor after a whole afternoon practice, Derek beside me was busy with something in his laptop.
"What are you doing?" I yawned asking Derek.
"Finalizing this new song I wrote," still his gaze never left his laptop.
It wasn't just Aiden that did all the song writing, there's also Derek, who in my opinion, was far better and talented composer than him.
He took his guitar and played few notes from his new song.
"It's actually really good as always." I said facing him.
He met my eyes and gave me the sweetest smile before starting to sing.
The gentle kiss of the breeze as I watched her go
Her lips is the only thing in the world I could call home
And honestly I'm still begging for answers
Her vivid blue eyes to make me feel better
ohhhh...
She left me clueless, this emptiness
All I wanted is the warmth of her embrace
The taste of her lips as she slowly walked away
All I care is to bring me back to that day.
"I'm not yet done with the second stanza, what do you think?"
"Did I miss something?"
Confusion welled in his eyes.
"What do you mean?" he asked between laughs.
"Every composer has their muse, I mean they actually write songs according to their experience."
"Uhhhmmm.. Your point?"
"Did someone broke your heart? Tell me and I will break her jaw!"
"Woah."
Okay, I did overreact. I knew I'm being kinda protective with Derek since we were kids. I treated him like a little bro though he was a month older than me.
"No one broke my heart Bree."
"Spill it little bro, she's gonna learn her lesson!"
I saw a little twitch on Derek's face, he hated it when I call him little bro, but then decided to laugh about it.
"Seriously Bree don't be so over protective with your little bro, I'm a grown up now. I can deal with a heartbreak."
I gasped and grabbed his face squishing it making him look me straight into my eyes.
