He was at it again, yelling at her, making her want to end it all at that moment. It was like this nearly every weekend that she had learned to tone him out. That is, until a certain statement had caught her attention.

"What happened to the little girl who was always so happy and loving?"

She had snapped, this man who she's forced to call her father, this man who claims to know her more than she knows herself, had no idea

"That girl . . . " she said in a whisper

"Speak louder! You know I can't understand you when-"

"That girl got lost ever since you and mom decided to just leave each other. Lost in a forest of hatred and depression. That girl-" she stopped, chocking back a sob "That girl cried for her mother and father" She barked, her voice laced with poisonous venom " And no one went to find her"

She glared at the man in front of her, scoffing at how speechless he was

"I've been pretending to be that girl for 10 years! And you, the person she was closest to, never even fucking noticed she was gone" she continued, her tear rolled down her face but she refused to lower her glare

After a minute of silence, she grabbed her backpack, her phone and her purse. She headed out the door, stomping on the tiled floor. Before opening the door, however, she looked back at the man

"Mom and I are heading to London next week, I plan on restarting my life. Don't bother trying to contact any of my real family" she as tiredly placed her hand on the door knob "or I'll be forced to tell the police about everything you've done to me" and with that, she harshly pushed the door open and proceeded to slam it shut
