~ The Grasp Of Love ~

It was not he who destroyed her, but her undying love for him.

All my sorrows forgotten,
Your face when I saw.
Like a drop of morning dew,
Your love settled down on my heart.

You were the only ray of hope,
In this lone life of mine.
Like the moon brightened the dark nights,
Your smile lightened up my heart.

They were once beautiful,
These memories of you.
Now they are just memories,
Of someone who torments my mind.

My words curse it’s tormentor,
But my heart still loves you;
Find a way to mend me,
Cries out my broken heart.

It wants to run away, somewhere far,
Away from your warm grasp;
But how can I?
For my heart you are.
