Matt tip-toed around the room slowly careful to not wake Cece. He grabbed his cell phone and walked out onto the patio. He redialed the number that had just called him.
"What?" He grunted into the phone.
"What do you mean a week delay?! Are you really doing this now Matt?" a angry voice asked.
"Something came up, but I will be there." Matt said.
"You know your no good right?" The voice said.
"I have to go, but tell him I love him, alright?"
"Sure."
"Bye." Matt hung up and crept back into bed, where a wide awake Cece was waiting for him.
"Patient?" She asked.
"Yep."
"I hope she's okay."
"Yeah me too," he said.
Cece gave him a look.
"I'm just kidding," he laughed.
"She's fine. How's my baby?" he asked rubbing Cece's belly.
"Tired," Cece said.
"You got three more months to go," He motioned with his fingers. "Hang in there."
"Besides I know a way to make you feel good," he smirked.
"I'm gonna act like you never said that and go wake Ava." Cece put on her silk robe and went to Ava's room. Ava was already up playing with her dolls.
"Honey its time to get ready for school," Cece said from the doorway.
Ava ignored her.
"Ava please."
Ava continued to ignore her and Matt shrugged while he picked out her clothes.
"I don't wanna have to be mean Ava." Cece said crossing her arms.
"I'm not doing shit," she crossed her arms and walked to her dad who was picking out her clothes. Mean-mugging Cece the whole way there.
"Daddy, Cece is being mean," Ava fake cried.
"It's ok baby. Go brush your teeth and put on your clothes," Matt said.
Ava nodded and ran to her bathroom.
"You're just gonna-" Cece started, but was cut off by Matt.
"She's adjusting," he said.
"Pfft, I'm going to wake Trevor up." Cece walked to Trevor's room and knocked softly. "Trevor time to wake up."
"Ten more minutes," he mumbled.
The boy sounded like he needed ten more minutes so, Cece let him sleep. She walked downstairs to see Matt in the kitchen cooking breakfast.
"What are you cooking?"
"Just eggs and bacon. Where is Trevor?"
