Ellynaela's POV

After we were finally let out of our cupboard, which was after, like, one entire month, Petunia and Vernon were forced to go to the store to get some rats and mice for Serpentina to eat because there weren't any rats living in the neighbourhood.

These days just keep getting more packed with incidents of what Harry and I like to call magic, but Vernon keeps insisting that there is no such thing as magic. Like seriously, what do call Harry and I ending up on the roof of the school building when Dudley was chasing us down?! What about the glass disappearing at the zoo?! Me being able to talk to Serpentina, huh? What do you call that?

Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system. It's so infuriating how the Dursleys act sometimes! Well, actually, most of the time. Anyway, as I was saying, the incidents have gotten more common these day, and the incident for this particular day was Harry and I getting mail.

Now I know what you're thinking, 'What's so magical about getting mail?' The thing is, Harry and I never get mail. And I mean never. We have no friends at school because Dudley bullied everyone who even dared to talk to Harry, and I was always hanging around Harry so everyone stayed away from me as well.

The second Dudley saw the letters, he told on us and Vernon leapt to his feet. I had managed to read, 'HOGWARTS SCHOOL of-' before the letter was snatched out of my hands by a rather purple uncle Vernon. He took one look at the letter and ripped it apart, throwing the pieces into the fire.

"Hey! Those were our letters!" Harry exclaimed. I winced and braced myself for the slap in the face that I was surely going to get because of Harry's comment, and glared at him, trying to convey to him the message, 'Keep your mouth shut, you idiot!' with my eyes.

True to my suspicions, I received the slap that Harry basically asked for. I mean, I love my twin and all, but seriously, how stupid can he get? Sometimes I wonder wether Harry actually likes getting beat up, with the way he talks.

We were thrown into our cupboard shortly after the letters finished burning for Vernon to discuss something with Petunia, and I have no doubt that it was about the letters, even Dudley was told to go back to his room!

Harry turned to me and asked, "What do you think was written on the letters?" I shrugged and told him that it must have been something big because Dudley was told to leave as well.

The next day, the same letters were sent again, and when I got them, I put them in my pocket. However, Vernon was very on edge that day from the letters the day before and he saw the letters and took them from me, ripping and burning them again.

The next day was Sunday, and Vernon turned to me and told me that he liked Sunday, and asked me to guess why.

"There's no mail on Sunday." Harry replied for me.

Vernon nodded,"There's no mail on Sunday." he repeated. However, it seemed that that Sunday, there was mail, because that particular Sunday, two letters showed up at the door. Two very specific letters addressed to Ms. Ellynaela Potter and Mr. Harry Potter in the cupboard under the stairs, 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey.

I think that's when Vernon broke, because the next day I woke up to the sound of a drill. I walked out of my cupboard and saw Vernon drilling a board of wood to the mail slot to keep it shut. He saw me and smirked, saying, "Let's see you get those letters now." I would actually like to see his face if we did get the letters.

When Harry finally woke up, we made breakfast and put it on the table to be eaten. This time I didn't have enough time to grab some food, so we waited until the Dursleys were done with the food and ate the leftovers.
