'No I did not, stop blaming me for everything. You know bloody well that I have no clue on how to make a virus. Nor can I delete viruses. How on earth suddenly I could manage to hack your computer, inserting that virus to your hard drive? That's rubbish! Even your house, that was not me. Yes, of course, you saw me near it when it burns but even I am not that imbecile. I'm gutted to see you like this. After that day, you never called me. Or just a simple wave. I'm grateful that you helped me but for the sake of what? If I'm a burden to you then I apologies. I'm nothing to you, not useful, or brilliant. Just stupid as I've always been.'
Silence.
'Now if you excuse me, Shawn. I GUESS I'LL LEAVE.'
'My mission is to cooperate with you. they have our executive, Edmund. And no, I never thought you were dumb. To me, you're the brightest man alive. Every mission, we aced it because of you. I'm supposed to be sorry. I could never accept that last mission we had. Just for this bloody book. I've been researching everything about it. And it all leads down to a dead end. I owe you an apology. A great deal of apology.'
He was still pissed off.
'Here, take it.'
I gave him the hard plain covered, slightly grey, thick book. The book switched hands. He looked through the pages.
'Have you tried ancient Greek, Shawn?'
'Not even close.'
'Latin?'
'That's too far. The closest I got was Chinese. But still, it's not the same.'
'Have you used viking typeface?'
'Viking? Aren't they're the same as old English fonts?'
'Oh, no mate. Way different. And the good news is, I could read it.'
'Brilliant! Thanks, Will.'
'So, friends?'
'Officially.'
We shook hands.
'Okay, anywhere safe than here?'
'Remember that bunker you and I used to hang out to?'
'Still fresh in my head Shawn. As if it was just yesterday.'
'Alright then, let's get a move on.'
