FRIENDSHIP AT IT'S BEST

"Let's go on a coffee date", asked Garry.

"Take Tranzi, I'm not interested!", I said from the other end of the phone.

"But I can't take her alone, we just had a brief session of introduction.", he said.

"Garry I have loads of work to do. Moreover don't you remember about the Literature fest, it seems that the work is unending.", I said.

"Great. We can discuss it when we meet and we can involve Tranzi too!", he said.

I let out a sigh.

"But-...Hold on a sec Garry, someone's calling me!"

I checked the caller ID, it was Amelia. Taking her on conference call wasn't a good idea. I put Garry on hold and picked up Amelia's call.

"Hey girl!", I said.

"Whom were you talking to?", she enquired.

"I was talking to Garry."

"What were the talks about?", she asked.

"He was asking about Tra-" I stopped myself, I couldn't practically break the trust of Garry," Umm..He was asking me on a date."

"Oh! Wow, then why are you holding him for so long. Bye, carry on love birds.", she said.

"But-"

Before I could give some justification on my part she hung up.Why everybody hung up before I could say something.Why doesn't anyone let me justify myself before making notions?  I unholded Garry's call.

''Garry, where do I have to come with her?", I said straight seeing no point in arguing.

"Seriously? I thought I had to do some bribing! But you are such a good friend that-"

"I got it Garry, where do I have to come.", I asked smiling secretly at Garry's innocence.

"Oh yeah, tomorrow at Berrington Fall. 2 hours after afternoon would be good?", he asked.

"Yes and don't worry I would find a way to get Tranzi." I said.

"I know you would. Bye.", he said.

"Bye Garry."

I dropped my phone on the bed. I had to figure out how to get Tranzi to the date. She liked Garry so she wouldn't refuse, according to me. And I'm not going to say that it's a date because I'm gonna be with them. Shall I ask her to help me out with my homework? No, that would surely be dumb. Not because I'm intelligent but she's stupid. Wait, she told me she wanted to explore around. Yes, I'm awesome.

As I picked up my phone to drop a text to Tranzi, I already had a message. It was from Garry.

It said,

'I know you would have heard this many times but still my urge is very strong. I want to tell you, you are a great friend. Actually, you are far from great. I haven't done anything for you and you have already started making my life a better place to live. I wouldn't be able to repay your loans sweetheart. I never had a best friend. But now I think I will get that privilege too. :-* '
