Taehyung sighed heavily as he moved the straw in his pink lemonade around. The boy watched as the ice cubes lightly bumped together with the movement of the straw. He was sitting in a cafe alone, waiting for his blind date. Normally, people would be nervous or excited when it came to blind dates. Unfortunately, for Taehyung, he felt neither emotion. How could he when his blind date was already two hours late.
This blind date was set up by one of his best friends, Jimin. Jimin had assured Taehyung that this guy was the one. To be honest, Taehyung had fallen for that lie. He really believed this time would be different. However, it wasn't. Taehyung looked down when the sound of his ring tone erupted from his jacket pocket. Already knowing who it was due to the ring tone, Taehyung didn't need to look at the caller ID. "Hey Jimin."
"Hey! How's it going?" There was complete hope in Jimin's voice. He really wanted this to work out for Taehyung.
"I'm still sitting here at the café. My so called blind date is two hours late. You tell me how it's going." Taehyung didn't mean to sound harsh. He was just so tired of being let down on each blind date he went on.
"What? But, how? He texted me saying he was on the way to meet you."
"When? Two hours ago? Face it, Jimin. This is never going to work. I'm never going to find that special someone. I might as well just give up." Taehyung would have given up long ago, but Jimin and his other friends always persuaded him to keep trying. But, now he was tired of it. If he had to stay alone forever, then so be it.
"I'm so sorry, Tae. Don't worry. We will find you someone. I promise." Jimin really wanted to help Taehyung find someone. He felt horrible seeing his best friend always alone whenever they hung out with their other friends.
"I'm done trying, Jimin. I'm never going to find someone. I rather just stay single than to deal with being let down. And if I do somehow managed to find someone, they are either going to leave me because they got bored or they are going to cheat on me. Just like the ones before did." Taehyung was really tired of this.
"I'm sorry, Taehyung. You will find the right person. Trust me. You just have to keep looking." Jimin was really trying to reason with his best friend. He didn't want him to give up trying to find love. He didn't want Taehyung to stay alone.
"I give up, Jimin. That's never going to happen. I'm sorry, but just stop wasting your time with me. Just focus on you and Yoongi hyung's relationship." Taehyung didn't want his friend to put all of his attention on him, especially if he had a boyfriend. It was only right for Jimin to pay more attention to his boyfriend than helping him find someone.
"But Taehyung-" Jimin was cut off before he could finished his sentence.
"Forget about it, Jimin. I'm heading home. I'll talk to you later. Say hi to Yoongi hyung for me." Before his best friend could say anything else, Taehyung hung up the phone. Sighing heavily, the brunet stood from the chair and stepped over to the cashier to pay for his drink. Then, he left the café and made his way over to his car. He started the engine, pulled out of the parking spot, then drove down the road towards his apartment.
His apartment wasn't located too far, which was a relief at the moment. Right now, all Taehyung wanted to do was curl up in his bed and go to sleep. He was mentally exhausted from the long waiting and disappointment he dealt with today. Stupid blind date.
Upon arriving home, Taehyung parked his car in the parking lot before shutting off the engine. Stepping out of his car, he made his way over to the entrance of the apartment complex and opened the door. The brunet practically dragged himself up the stairs until he reached the third floor. If anyone were to look at him now would be able to tell he wasn't in the greatest mood. One would think he just got dumped. Unfortunately, Taehyung was already dumped before the date even began. The thought brought an ache to his chest and a frown to his face.
When he finally reached his apartment, Taehyung lazily unlocked the door and dragged himself inside. Immediately, he was greeted by his pretty white cat. A tiny smile made it's way onto Taehyung's handsome face as he shut the door behind him. "Hello beautiful. Daddy's home." The white fluff ball mewed in response and rubbed against his leg.
Taehyung chuckled lightly and reached down to gently pick up the feline. He cradled her in his arms and nuzzled against her lovingly. "Did my beautiful Yuki missed me? I'm sorry daddy took so long to return home. Daddy's stupid date stood him up." Taehyung hadn't noticed the bitter tone that laced with his voice. Or, perhaps he did and simply didn't care. Yuki mewed once again before nuzzling against her owner's cheek. This caused Taehyung to smile faintly. "It seems like you are the only one who loves me, Yuki."
Giving his cat a peck on the head, Taehyung gently placed her on the ground before stepping into the kitchen. He was hungry. He hadn't ate at the café, thinking he was going to have dinner with his blind date. How wrong he was. Sighing softly, Taehyung began making himself something to eat.
---
After Taehyung had ate dinner, he fed Yuki then had taken a shower. Jimin had called him quite a few times, but the brunet didn't answer. He didn't felt like speaking with anyone right now. Not even to his friends. What surprised Taehyung was that Yoongi had even called him. He was probably told by Jimin.
Taehyung put his phone on silent and lightly tossed it onto the couch. Picking up his laptop, Taehyung decided to surf the Internet until it was time for bed. This was pretty much how he always spent his time alone at home. Either watching television, playing video games or surfing the Internet. Nothing special or exciting at all.
As he was browsing through the Internet, a pop window appeared on his laptop screen. This caused Taehyung's eyebrow to perk up. "What the hell is this?" Reading over the message on the pop up, it furthered Taehyung's confusion. "Heavenly Cloud? The perfect place to find your ideal type. What the fuck?" A survey on his ideal type? Okay, this had to be fake. One of those stupid questionnaires that always popped up on the screen at random. There was no way a stupid survey was going to find someone who matched Taehyung's ideal type. Right? Right.
Although, the more Taehyung stared at the survey, the more curious he became. What could go wrong with doing this stupid survey? It's not like it's real or anything. Going against his better judgment, Taehyung decided to take the survey. "Fuck it." He clicked on the 'Start' option and immediately questions popped on the screen.
It oddly took Taehyung quite a bit to finished the survey. Not because it was difficult, but because there were so many questions! Not only that, it asked every specific detail on Taehyung's ideal type. Which was odd for a survey. Why would a survey want every specific detail? From the height to the eye color. It was really odd.
When Taehyung finally finished the survey, he was greeted by a short message.
"Thank you for taking the survey!"
What the fuck? That was it? The survey just thanked Taehyung for taking it. "What kind of stupid survey is this?" The male glanced over to the clock and groaned softly. It was already late. He needed to head to bed. Shutting off his laptop, Taehyung placed it on the coffee table before standing from the couch. He was tired and just wanted to head to bed. Stepping into the bathroom, Taehyung took a quick shower. Once he was finished, he dressed himself in his pajamas then crawled into bed.
Yawning, the brunet connected his phone to his charger then turned off the light. He would make sure to call Jimin in the morning. He knew the shorter male was worried about him. The least Taehyung could do was tell him he was okay. Getting comfortable in bed, Taehyung shut his eyes to allow sleep to come easier. For a split second, Taehyung thought about that random questionnaire and a light chuckle escaped his lips. "If only it was that easy. Take a survey to find the perfect match. What a joke." Snuggling into his pillows, Taehyung relaxed and allowed sleep to consume him.
