The next morning, Taehyung was awaken by his alarm. Much like every morning. Groaning softly, the brunet reached out a large hand to turn off the annoying sound before snuggling back underneath his covers. He didn't want to get up today. He just wanted to stay in bed all day, and he was planning to do just that. However, it would seem like that wasn't going to happen for his phone began ringing loudly. "Ugh! Who is calling me this early?" The brunet wasn't naturally this grouchy. Being stood up by his blind date yesterday put him in a bad mood. Sitting up in bed, Taehyung grumbled underneath his breath as he picked up his cell phone and checked the caller ID. Once he saw that it was Jimin calling, the brunet sighed heavily. He almost didn't want to answer the phone. However, he knew his best friend must be calling him to check up on him. Swiping his thumb on the green answer button, Taehyung held the phone to his ear. "Hello Jimin."
"Hi Tae. I'm sorry for calling you so early in the morning. I just want to see how you were doing after what happened yesterday." Jimin's voice was soft and low. Almost as if he were afraid Taehyung was going to yell at him for calling so early.
Hearing his best friend's soft tone and words, Taehyung sighed heavily while using his free hand to rub the back of his neck. Of course Jimin would be calling him over what happened yesterday. He did hung up on the shorter male rather rudely without waiting to see what he had to say. The least Taehyung could do is let Jimin know he was okay. "Don't worry about it, Min. I'm okay. I just don't want to think about it." Knowing he wasn't going to be getting anymore sleep now, Taehyung thought he might as well get up. Pushing his bedsheets out of the way, Taehyung stood up from his bed and stretched out his back.
"I'm really sorry about that, Tae. I really thought this time would be different. I thought this guy would be the one, but...I guess he wasn't." Despite not being able to see him, Taehyung could already picture Jimin's eyes becoming moist with tears.
"You don't have to apologize, Min. It's fine. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Maybe I was meant to be alone for the rest of my life." Taehyung ruffled his hair as he stepped into the bathroom. Putting the phone on speaker, Taehyung took this chance to brush his teeth when Jimin began speaking.
"Don't say that. You are going to find someone, Tae. You just have to keep believing. I will keep doing my best to help you. I promise." By now, Jimin's tone held a hint of desperation in it. He didn't want to give up helping Taehyung so quickly.
Taehyung rinsed out his mouth before washing his face. "Jimin, maybe I should just stop looking. Well, let me rephrase that. Maybe you should stop setting me up with these blind dates. At least for a little while okay. I don't want to give my hopes up again like I did yesterday. I don't think my mental state of mind can handle anymore disappointment." Once his face was dry, Taehyung picked up phone again, took it off speaker before putting it against his ear once again. There was a pause on the other line. He could hear the soft sigh Jimin made before speaking once again.
"You really don't want my help, do you?" His best friend's voice was laced with hurt and sadness. Taehyung resisted the urge to groan over the phone. He hadn't meant it in a way to hurt the shorter boy's feelings. He just wanted to take break on looking for 'Mr. Right'. Just until he felt a little more confident with himself.
"You know I don't mean it like that, Jimin." Taehyung walked down the hallway towards the living room while running his fingers through his hair. "I just think I should take a br- What the fuck?" Once he had stepped foot into his living room, Taehyung was greeted with a package sitting right in the middle of the living room.
"What's the matter, Tae?" Jimin's voice was quickly filled with worry due to his best friend's sudden outburst.
"There is a large package sitting right in the middle of my living room. I don't remember ordering anything online. At least, not something as big as this. Damn, this box is taller than me!" Taehyung walked around the box, trying to look for a FBA sticker or something that will indicate who the hell sent this box.
