B.
U."Sarah?" He calls.
"Yeah, babe?" She returns.
"I'll be out for a while, there's a bakery I wanna try out. Want anything?" He answers.
"Hm, anything will do." She smiles and goes back to her phone call. He gets his motorcycle keys and helmet. Brendon walks out of the apartment with a bomber jacket and gets on his motorcycle. The bakery seems like a good idea to get out of the house for a while.
He drives toward the bakery, taking in the wind passing by him. The night is lovely with the bright city being seen from a far. Brendon thinks about how he should take Sarah out for another date. The first one was so successful and all the ones after it. Perhaps this is a sign they are meant to be.
The traffic light turns green signaling him to continue his path. The feeling of riding a motorcycle will never change to Brendon; it's exhilarating every time he does. He takes a turn as his GPS tells him to. A plaza greets Brendon and he sees the bakery from just approaching the plaza.
He drives into the bakery parking area and parks his motorcycle. Brendon takes of his helmet and sets it on the cycle. There's only a few cars in here, which means, business must be slow!
Brendon walks up to the doorway of the bakery and someone from the inside opens and holds the door for him.
The guy, who's actually quite tall, and they make eye contact. But when they do, Brendon wants to look away. Those eyes that the taller man has scares him and a flood of memories washes him. He thought his boat would hold him and his girlfriend just fine. But he did not plan for a storm he could not predict.
Blue is a scary color especially when it's someone eye's color. It reminds him of six years ago and that moment is something he wishes to forget. Brendon was stupid enough to worship someone and think they were a god, who could do no wrong.
God, how wrong was he.
Brendon was incredibly devoted to that man at a point of time. Devotion can and will run dry for Brendon. He'll always find himself in someone else's sheets and leaving small pieces of himself there. He is cursed with a lust that can never be cured as long as he continues to sell his body for night after night of temporary pleasure.
Brendon will never be able to know the day when he gets over that bump, after all, he's making the decision to be not loyal to his lovers.
The other guy lets Brendon pass through. Brendon does quickly and they walk from each other, having now, heavy hearts. The bakery all of the sudden seems so unappetizing yet Brendon enters anyway. There's a feeling that is crawling all over and he can't describe it.
He walks toward the cashier with one side of blonde curls.
"Hello! What would you like to order?" The cashier speaks with a ready to go smile.
"I, uh, would like a petite chocolate cake please." Brendon decides out of the blue. It isn't a bad choice as Brendon thinks that Sarah and he can finish it. The cashier nods and presses a few buttons.
"Is that all?"
"Y-yeah." His mind can't focus properly as it is on a man that comes back to haunt him.
"Your total is twelve thirty!" Brendon hands him his credit card and the guy uses it before giving it back. The employee walks away to box up the cake and Brendon immediately looks outside. The walking nightmare isn't there anymore, thank God. Brendon begins to worry, though. That seemingly forgotten memory of a person lives here, in L.A., where they can bump into each other at any time.
After the cashier gave him the box of cake, Brendon took it and left quickly while whispering a "thank you"
He just needs time to think about the future and the events it will give him. Brendon gets back on his motorcycle, setting the cake on top of the gas tank.
On his way home, Brendon can't stop fidgeting on the pedals of the cycle. He's so afraid to see him again. And now he knows, the future will give him the bad side of karma he deserves for that event six years ago. He just hopes he wouldn't get hurt but he knows that would end up a lie.
