Soulmate - A Superflash/Karry Story

Chapter 5

This is the last chapter, I'm afraid. This wasn't meant to be a long story, anyway.

Joe arrives at S.T.A.R. Labs in time to hear Flash and Supergirl tell everyone the story of their musical dreamworld adventure. They decided to leave out how they managed to free themselves, too embarrassed to tell them.

"Damn, Barry. I'd pay good money to see you sing and dance," said Joe.

"Well, he's holding out on your because Barry has an amazing voice," said Supergirl.

"It's true. I've actually heard him sing before," said Caitlin.

"You have?" asked a surprised Cisco. "How have we not made a GIF of that?"

Flash feels embarrassed and flattered at the same time. He didn't really have a high opinion on his singing skills, but he was glad to hear the compliments from Caitlin and Supergirl.

"Well, I'm not the only one who can sing," said Flash.

Flash smiled at Supergirl, who blushed as she smiled back.

"Thank you, B.A.," said H.R., thinking the speedster was referring to him.

"I was talking about Kara," said Flash.

"Of course, Kara can sing. Her name is Supergirl, after all," said Iris.

Now, Supergirl was feeling embarrassed and flattered simultaneously.

"Well, we better be going," said J'onn, approaching the speedster to shake his hand. "Thank you."

"Thank you," said Flash.

The Scarlet Speedster approaches Supergirl and Mon-El, who were having a private chat.

"Are you guys gonna be okay?" asked Flash.

"No, but we'll get there," said Supergirl. She looks at Mon-El and says, "If you lie to me again, I will drop a mountain on you."

"Figuratively, right?" asked Mon-El, hoping his ex-girlfriend was joking.

"No, I mean geologically," said Supergirl half-jokingly and half-seriously.

Flash couldn't help but chuckle, amused by his "super" friend. Supergirl finds herself staring at the Flash again. She didn't want to take her eyes off him, and they both knew why.

Downstairs, Supergirl opens a breach to Earth-38 using the interdimensional extrapolator that Cisco made for her. J'onn and Mon-El were ready to go, but the Girl of Steel was busy making eyes at the Scarlet Speedster.

"C'mon, Kara. Your sister's gonna want to see you," said J'onn.

"Just a moment," said Supergirl.

Flash and Supergirl hug again. They hugged each other like they were never gonna see each other again for a long time. It made the others happy that they really like each other. Iris and Mon-El, however, were half-bothered by the meaning of the very tight hug between the speedster and the alien.

"I'm gonna miss, you," said Supergirl.

"Hey, c'mon. If we ever need each other, we're just one breach away," said Flash. "But I am gonna miss you, too."

"I wish I didn't have to go," said Supergirl.

"But we both have responsibilities on our own Earths," said Flash sadly.

Supergirl was starting to feel sad, but looking into Flash's eyes lifted her mood a bit. Supergirl puts her arms around Flash as she pulls him closer for a kiss. Flash kisses her back with passion, even brushing her golden brown hair with his hand.

Once again, Iris and Mon-El were feeling down watching them together. Cisco fought the decision to look away or keep watching. Joe and Wally were both simply shocked. J'onn was half-smiling at the sight of this.

After the kiss, the two did as they always did since their musical adventure. Stare into one another's eyes with love.

"Well, that happened," said Supergirl awkwardly.

"In front of everyone we know and love," added Flash embarrassingly.

Supergirl giggled in embarrassment, and so did Flash.

"Well, until next time," said Supergirl.

Supergirl playfully punches Flash on the shoulder as she walks towards the breach with J'onn and Mon-El. Before she walks through it, Supergirl took the time to smile at Flash lovingly once more. He looked at her the same way.

As soon as Supergirl entered the breach, it closed, leaving Flash to wonder when they'll see each other again.

"Man, what just happened there?!" shouted Cisco, confused like he was never before.

Everyone glared at Cisco for ruining the sad moment. The engineer can only step backwards awkwardly out the door.
