WARNING- SELF HARM- AND SLIGHT SEXUAL ABUSE-
SORRY
Three weeks later.
3rd Person

Zöe's parents have been fighting. A lot. So much so that after a week of it constantly, Zöe took her dad's razor, and cut her wrists. They weren't deep at first. Just one on each wrist. Nothing a long sleeved jumper couldn't hide. But as those seven days morphed into 14, then into 21. Deeper cuts, fresh scars and a blunt razor was earned. Which, unfortunately to her, meant that she had to go and buy a new one from the drug store.

When she got there, she searched the long aisles of Boots to find a men's razor, as they were easier to cut with. The only thing was that she probably had to think of an excuse. Finally, Zöe found the razor she was looking for.

At the checkout, she couldn't bear to make eye contact with the person behind the till. That was, until she handed them the money for it, her long, grey jumper sleeve slid a few inches up her arm, revealing scars. old and new. Which is when the checkout trainee caught her eye. No. She thought. The checkout guy was Alfie.

It took every ounce of her to choke back the tears she could barely contain, she wasn't even sure why she was cry. But there she was, now practically bawling her eyes out.
"Let me take you out to the back of this shop, Zo." Zo.
He grabbed her hand, carefully avoiding her wrists, and took her to the empty staff room."No one ever comes here, so you don't need to worry." Alfie cradled her in his strong arms. Somehow, nothing was awkward between them.
"I-I..." Zöe tried, and failed to form a sentence.
"Shh," Alfie repeated multiple times "it's ok."
"B-but it's n-not." Zöe miserably replied. "M-my parents started fighting, they hardly stopped. Th-they forgot about m-me and J-Joe." She wailed.
"Look, if you don't want to, you don't have to tell me." Alfie began
"No, I want to" Zöe replied, not realising what she said until she saw Alfie's slightly shocked expression. "I started c-cutting, about t-th-three weeks ago." She cried into Alfie's chest, soaking his shirt.
"M-mum... h-hit dad" Zöe wailed shaking at the memory.
"Aw, Zo, it's ok." He whispered, holding Zöe's shaking body in his strong arms...

This all happened two years ago. Before all of these unwritten laws of the school were enforced. Zöe has stopped cutting, but hadn't shaken off the memories and occasional desire to cut.
Memories of when she'd had feelings for Alfie were always in the back of her mind. Simply because of that one incident...

*Monday*

Zöe walked into school on time for once, on her phone, when she felt someone discreetly grab her hand, and drag her into the bathroom.

"Hello, gorgeous." A deep voice growled. It was Harry's voice.
"Harry? What are you doing?" Zöe asked, beginning to feel claustrophobic as he gradually cornered her. Zöe's breathing quickened, her heart racing.

"Oh, Zo, nothing bad" Harry smirked. Where had she heard that nickname before? Slowly inching his face towards her panicked one. What seemed like hours later, which was only about one second, his lips touched hers. No matter how hard Zöe's weak arms tried to push him off, Harry's grip was firm. He continued to kiss her, while Zöe refused to do the same. Tears spilled out if her eyes at the thought of no one finding her. He needed to stop before things got even more inappropriate than they already were. It took a while of Harry pushing his whole body basically on top of Zöe before she finally found the confidence to yell
"STOP" Harry pulled away, gaining back his breath. When suddenly, someone burst through the door,
"Zöe?" It was Alfie. "The teacher sent me to find you." He explained as to why he was in the girls' bathroom."And why we you here?" He questioned Harry.
"I could ask you the same." He replied, not giving him a chance to answer before punching him in the gut and walking away.

That left Zöe. Now curled up in a ball in the corner of the bathroom, mascara streaked on her cheeks and her lipstick smudged.

"Aw, Zo, it's ok." Now she knew where the nickname was from. It's what Alfie had always called her, she was Zo and he was Schmalf. She cried even harder when she realised how familiar the situation was. (Read above) Schmalf comforting Zo, him cradling her in his strong, gentle arms, while whispering sweet nothings into her ear.
"I'm fine" Zöe said. Trying to act confident and happy. She tried to get up, but Alfie pulled her back down.
"No you're not" He stated.
"You're right," Zöe sighed. A lone tear escaped her eye, Alfie wiped it away with his thumb. She'd forgotten how kind and gently Alfie was, he was so selfless, anyone would think they were a couple. (*smirk*)
"Hey, how about we skip school today? I have somewhere we can go." Alfie suggested.
"Sounds good... Schmalf" Zöe added, smiling. But this was a genuine smile, not the fake one that was usually plastered on her face.
"Lets go." Alfie smiles back, this too was kind and real. It was like Zöe and Alfie didn't need to pretend when they were around each other.

She got up off of Alfie's lap and took his hand, him leading the way.

Word count: 900(that's satisfying me.)

Hope you liked this chapter, it's a bit longer and cuter.

Ooo where's Alfie taking Zöe?
