Riverdale's Wild Ride

Chapter One

  Friday nights in Riverdale are as typical as they get, the group of 5 friends always get together for a milkshake and vent about their week, but this was no ordinary Friday night for the teens of this small town. Jughead and Archie had just beaten the Ghoolies in a street race and was meeting the girls for burgers and shakes at Pop's. Archie had tipped off Sheriff Keller about the street race in hopes of securing Jughead's win but instead created more problems than they had to begin with. The thing that Archie didn't count on is the Ghoolies hiring the best lawyer money could buy and the group was quickly out of jail.

  The morning after meeting up at Pop's Mindy, Betty, and Archie had decided to all stay the night at Jughead's trailer, Veronica wanted to but her father was having no part of her staying with two guys even if Mindy and Betty were present. When the four woke up they were all in various places in the small living room, there was a booming knock on the front door. Betty peaked outside from a window and saw the Ghoolies from the day before, "Guys.. We have a problem." She said in a hushed tone. Jughead quietly rushed to look out and see what Betty was going on about. "Shit.. It's the Ghoolies. We have to get out of here. Now!" Mindy hurried and grabbed a backpack that she used as a purse as well as an over night bag, Betty put her hair into a pony tail while Archie and Jughead found shirts and slid on their shoes. The teens ran to the back door of the trailer, Jughead grabbing his Serpent jacket on the way out. "Where are we going to go?" Archie questioned when they exited and started to head for the woods. "We could always go to my place." Betty suggested, only to be shot down due to her mother's attitude towards Mindy and Jughead. "How about we go to my aunt's? She's at work right now and the Ghoolies know nothing about me or where I live. It's our safest option right now." They all agreed and began the journey to Mindy's which was only a few miles from Jughead's trailer.

  Betty had called Veronica to ask for her to pick them up and take them to Mindy's, to which Veronica was asking a billion questions but eventually got off the phone and picked the group up to take them all to Mindy's. Sitting in Mindy's bedroom everyone started to panic, except Jughead. Jughead looked at Archie and pointed to him, "If you hadn't of called the damn Sheriff we wouldn't be in this mess!" Archie stood up and threw his hands into the air, "I was trying to save your ass! If you would've never joined the Serpents none of this would be going on!" Veronica then stood and yelled over the two, "That's enough, boys! Now is not the time to be arguing with each other, we have to work together!" Betty nodded and looked at Veronica, "V's right, we have to stick together. With everything going on we have to stay close, we can't afford to drift apart now."  Jughead sighed and patted Archie on the shoulder, "They're right, man. I'm sorry. I'm just.. I wish we weren't involved in this shit." Archie nodded and smiled, "I know, Jug. Me too." 

  After everyone calmed down they decided to watch tv and unwind. Mindy had gone to the kitchen to make some snacks. She jumped when Jughead walked in and said, "Have you found out anything about your father?" Jug was the only person Mindy had told that she was looking for her father, she decided not to tell the rest of the group when Jug had told her he could be a Serpent since her mother said he had a snake tattoo. "Shit, Jug." She laughed, "I haven't found anything new.. I still need to go to the Whyte Wyrm with you to take some pictures of the men and send them to my mom to see if she knows any of them." Jug nodded and rubbed the back of his neck, "We'll go tonight. We can tell the others to head to their houses in a little while, they should be safe at their houses. The Ghoolies won't come to Northside, they'll get arrested as soon as they do." Mindy smiled, "Thanks, Jug. It means a lot that you're helping me find my father." She embraced him in a quick hug before heading to the others with Jug, him telling the group to head home and stay safe.

A/N Hey everyone! I hope you're liking this so far. Also, I made the group a little older. They're all Seniors, so they drive and so on. Mindy is also their age, I realized I didn't specify her age I just said how old she was when she moved. The reason the Ghoolies do not know much of her is because she doesn't hang out with Jug in school, she keeps to herself.
