Chapter 7: Too close for Zapping

Tackle sat on his back on the snow staring at his ferret friend upside down " Day camp isn't so bad Tackle I mean Sid does get himself into some messes..." Ferry tried cracking an acorn on a rock but no avail" But your aunt Brooke always does these fun cave paintings and flower decorations with us" the saber cub rolled on his side as his ferret friend tried opening it with his claws, he was Tackle's first and only friend since they were really little even if they were complete opposites. "Oh please" Crash appeared next to the saber cub hanging on the branch with his tail " there's always learning and stuff in day camp, being home schooled is best I mean just look at me and Eddie"

Crash told them proudly as he got on the ground but Eddie crashed into him tackling something along"Watch out for the squirrel!" Eddie yelled out as Scrat got out facefirst on the ground until seeing the acorn Ferry had and grabbed it from him before marching off, all four were confused but just shrugged it off, the saber cub got up and walked to a nearby cave where it had all the cave paintings of the Herd's adventures from the time they saved that human baby to saving the world from an asteroid...that was Tackle's favorite story. He sighed his ears and eyes down on the ground, the ferret approached his friend patting his back to at least cheer him up...he wanted to be like the Herd.

Meanwhile,the possum sibling were continuing their wrestling arguing " You crashed into me!" "Did not!" "Oh please your name is Crash!" Eddie pointed out until they heard something buzzing "Hey what's that sound?" Crash asked and the two found themselves right near a familiar looking rock...with electricity! Boom! Tackle and Ferry got on their feet the cub hissing ready for whatever it was.

They heard some faint screaming which got louder until it hit the snow right between the two. Crash and Eddie got out but their fur was all frizzy with purple electricity on them "Whoa talked about unexpected appearance. What happen?" Ferry asked the possums as Tackle place a paw on Crash's shoulder "ow!" He pulled his paw back after it got zapped.

"Eddie and I just took a trip to electric meteor town" Crash said as he plopped on the ground his finger pointing where they got blasted out. Tackle and Ferry walked over leaning over a snowy edge where they found the source of it...an asteroid.

"What is that?" Ferry asked as he got closer to his friend his paw on his shoulder. Tackle squinted his eyes on the huge rock "Hey I've seen that before. At one of the cave paintings..." He turn his head to the cave before to the ferret "Those are space rocks" "Space rocks? Wait! Buck told me about them, weren't those from that huge asteroid that your Herd stopped? But I thought they were all gone after that" the two stared at it, they can see it still had electricity as it illuminated.

Tackle got down and circled the rock, it wasn't large kinda his size. His eyes had curiosity "Wow. I wonder..." He lifted a paw "Wait what if you get zapped?" Ferry questioned as he watched his friend his ears down scared "Just one touch" the cub said as his paw inched closer he could feel the fur on his paw get frizzy and...

"TACKLE!" The cub jumped back when a dagger came in between him and the rock. It was Buck's dagger. He turned around "Uh oh" Tackle crouched low his ears down when he saw Ellie, Buck and Diego. "What are you doing?" Diego said a bit angry as Tackle walked up to him "I was just looking" he said awkwardly "Good thing we came looking for you otherwise you would've been zapped like Tiger here" Buck said as Diego glared at him from that reminder.

Tackle joined with his friend Ferry "Sorry" he said sheepishly as Diego looked at him sternly before sighing "It's ok just don't do that or you'll know how I felt being zapped. Come on let's go back to the den it's time for dinner" Diego said as Tackle followed him "And it's time to go home" "Mom!" Ferry beamed when hearing that voice, a white ferret with yellow eyes got off of Ellie. Her name was Daphne and she was Ferry's mom.

"Let's go home Ferry. Thanks Ellie" Daphne and Ferry left as Buck left too while the possums watched "Aw man I wanted to see Tackle get zapped" Crash said until a huge shadow covered them and they froze at seeing their sister angry "So you didn't stop Tackle all because you wanted him to get zapped?" She glared at them "Ow!" "Ouch!" The possums' voices echoed through the forest.
