Chapter 9: First Day at Day Camp

"Mom! Dad! Wake up you guys!" Morning came and the young saber was running around his parents trying to wake them up, he kept hopping on them, pulling on their ears and running around them in circles but Diego groaned and placed his paw on his son pressing him flat on the ground with "Five more minutes" Tackle waved his tail mishevously "Your not scared that you can't beat a saber cub are you?" the cub told him sneakily and Diego opened one eye smirking at him " You want a bet? Come here!" He tried grabbing Tackle but the cub ran out quick and went out the den.

Diego came out but his ears perked when he notice Shira wasn't by his side anymore. He turn his head around to look for her but suddenly found himself pounced by his mate " last one that catches Tackle is a softie" she told him in a teasing voice as Diego smirked at her. "eww no kissing!More chasing!" The cub called out running off.

Meanwhile,the possum twins were planning a prank for Tackle" Don't you think this is a little mean on Crash?" Eddie asked his brother but Crash just brushed it off " It's his first day at day camp and he's gonna be nervous, so we need to cheer him up with a simple prank". "ROAR!" The possums jumped and played dead until a shadow covered them "Was that suppose to be your prank for Tackle?" Diego said with an amused smirk, the two stood up sheepishly "We um well..." "We wanted to cheer him up" the two made excuses which clearly didn't fool the saber.

"Hey who wants to play tag with The possums?" "Me!" Tackle popped out behind Diego with Shira joining and the possums knew they were in for it.

The sabers arrived to the day camp with Tackle chasing the possums trying to catch one of them. The day camp was similar to the playground Manny did for Peaches once only with a tree and some berry bushes, Manny along with the girls and Julian joined the sabers " Hey there's the new day camper" "Uncle Manny!" Tackle said excited to see one of his uncles giving the possum bros to escape "So how you feel for your first day at day camp?" Julian asked him but the young saber just had his ears down and looked at the ground"Nervous" "Aw don't worry, first day can be scary but it really turns out fun" "Really cousin Julian?" Tackle replied excited as he started mimicking Julian's walking style.

"You know Peaches, Julian really knows how to lighten someone up" "Trust me Shira, if anyone can cheer up anyone it's Julian" Shira and Peaches talked but Diego notice some deer making fun of Tackle as he mimic Julian. The deer caught sight of him watching and the saber snarled at them, spooking them off. He smirks at this and heads to his son whispering " Um Tackle, maybe best to walk normal to make a good first impression" "Ok" Tackle instantly went back to his usual walking style.

Tackle suddenly froze at seeing the other kids playing feeling nervous again. Sid ran up to the cub rubbing his head " Aw man I'm so happy your here! Now let's get class and make your first day the best" Sid wrapped his arm around the cub who didn't seem amused being treated like he was just born " Actually Sid can I talked him for a sec" Diego knew his son was nervous and needed a chat " Thanks dad" the cub whispered as Diego brought him away from Sid " Look if things don't go well then you can go back to staying with the Herd" "Really?" "Really" Tackle fist bumped with his and walked away to Sid's direction while Shira got to her mate's side but then the cub quickly turn around and nuzzled his parents, surprising them both " Love you mom. Love you dad" "We love you too" Diego nuzzled his son before he ran off.

Meanwhile, the figure from yesterday along with three other animals were watching in the grass " Ok so what now?" The one of them a pup questioned until a voice interrupted her " Now it's my turn" one of them stood up revealing herself to be a brown wolf. The figure stood up and nodded to her as she nodded back before he left, the wolf turning to the other two " You two head to where we're gonna meet...I'll get the cub"
