The Race

Chapter one

I looked out to the horizon staring at the waves as they roll upon each other."see this place isn't too bad. " my mother says when she reaches the sandy shore. "Oh please, it feels like a dungeon!" I say
(Alexandra has brown with gold streaks in her hair. She is 16 years old thin lips and brows)
My mum sighs before walking inside.

"Lunch is ready!" I hear my Mum call
I run inside to the call. "Hey hun, get Cody some stuff out please" I shrug and start plating his food when I'm finished I slowly walk to Codys room "Cody I have brung you some food" I say placing the plate on the bedside table. I have never seen Cody so sick in my entire life.

"Why thank you fair Maiden!" I roll my eyes when he says that and ask him to call me a queen so he does
I walk out and before I leave I turn around to see Cody not even touching his plate my warm smile flops into a frown "Yunno as much as you piss me off. I do love you Cody." I say tears stinging the corner of my eyes "I love you too" he say smiling before flopping onto his bed.

"Mum. Do you know what's wrong with Cody? How he got sick all of a sudden?" My mum and dad shoot a glance at each other " maybe a bugs going around town?" My dad states tho it comes out like a question. I shrug before walking into my room. I yawn and flop on my bed as well I check the time 1:23pm ugh

I look around my room for my book.  When I turn back to my bed I find a blue box... 'Should I open it? This better not be a prank from Cody!' I think I slowly undo the silk bow on the top and remove it. I wedge the top of the box open sitting on a miniature pillow is what looks like a hearing aid.  I pop it onto my ear.

"Hello, I am Lady Grea and I am here to tell you. You have been chosen for the Brimstone Bleed you have exactly 48 hours to get to Girangle Library in Hound love the city your time starts now,." She ended with a lash and I knew exactly what to do. Ask Cody how he got WiFi to get a lady to say a couple words.

"Cody! You asshole!!" I growled "Language!" My mother and father say when I walk into the room "nice prank ass! Wait why are you guys in here?" I glance at my Mum and Dad both holding hands wtf is going on? "We are talking!" My Father growled. He's never ever yelled at me. I frown. "I'm sorry. I just-"  I walk out I hear my mother telling my dad off.

I put the ear thing on again.

"Hello, I am Lady Grea and I am here to tell you. You have been chosen for the Brimstone Bleed you have exactly 43 hours to get to Girangle Library in Hound love the city your time starts now," I write on a piece of paper 'Brimstone bleed- Girangle Library- hound love city' I shove it in the front of my bag before packing it with clothes/Make-up I'm ready I thought leaning against my closet door.

At midnight I shall leave I plan and I will go to the train tracks. I go to my bed and lay still. I look outside when I hear crunching of leaves and swearing I see my dad with- with my blue box!! He opens it and tosses the hearing aid thing straight into the fire. I gasp he spins in my direction I duck down and cover my mouth.

I peek out of my window again and just like that he's gone. I shush myself before slowly creeping out without my bag I walk to the fire and grab a strong stick I squint at the fire trying to find the hearing aid there! I grin and flick it out I put to my ear and click the button.

"Hello," I take it off when it starts talking its still on!I walk to the house and choose what car to take.. The marshmallow (a white marshmallow like car) or the honda. Mum will most likely get mad if I take the flash Honda shit. I forgot food. I run inside and stash money into my bag before running to the car. I throw my bag to the passenger seat before reming the engine.

I looked in the rear view mirror and could faintly see bags under my eyes. Ugh. I could not be bothered going to sleep I was waaaayy to pumped about a freakin competition. I look in my bag to check if I have the right things. Clothes, make up, money, and a brush I look through my front pocket and find the hearing aid I left it out and the button to click on is blinking. Red. I put it on my ear before listening to what she say.

"Welcome. I see you have now 38 hours to make it to Hound love city! Also when you get to the library make sure to choose an egg better be quick. No egg. No game. Good day!" I slam the breaks on the car my head almost hitting the window. I grin "so this is what a race feels like!" I say before adding "put the petal to the metal" there was no police so I went faster.

I took a sharp right and saw hound love city just up ahead I slowed down and drive in it was small. But bigger then my town.  I snort when I see the tiny library I park near the door before walking in.
