Beep beep beep beeeeeeeep
It's too early in the morning for this!
"Hello?" I groaned on the phone. I didn't even check to see who was calling me this early.
"Hi, love. Take a shower. We'll be there in 10." My best friend Giselle said as she hung up and didn't even give me a chance to respond.
Should I get up and take a shower? It's a Saturday and it's the first time in weeks that I'm actually free. I decided on sleeping in, so I covered my head with the comforter, going to dreamland again.
Ten minutes later, and I really mean exactly ten minutes, I heard someone knocking- no, pounding the door. I groaned as I tried to get up so I could open the door. Despite the pounding, I found myself still rolling around the bed learning how to drown out the noise.
"Jasmine. Seriously?" I heard someone say over me while pulling the comforter away.
"Why did I ever give you a duplicate key?" I groaned and grabbed it from her hand.
"Lucas and his friend are out there, waiting for us. We have to go." Giselle said, grabbing the comforter once again and this time putting it on the carpet.
"Hey! Give me that!" I whined.
"C'mon! You have to meet him! He's so hot. You guys are going to be so cute!" She said cheerily.
"Lucas will kill you if he hears you say that! And how many times have I told you never to set me up with anybody? Plus, I look cute with anyone. Duh?" I told her, getting up and heading to the shower.
"Fine. But after I take a shower I want my extra key back!" I shouted and closed the bathroom door.
"Yeah, sure!" She shouted back, sarcasm obvious in her voice.
I got out of the shower and picked out the first pieces of clothing I saw in my closet. A flow-y top and black shorts. I also got my sandals out.
"Ooo girl you lookin' cute." Giselle said with an accent, coming in my room and closing the door behind her.
"You don't know how to knock, do you?" I said smirking, while going back to the closet to get some accessories that matches my outfit.
"Hey, why don't you curl your hair today? It'll go well with what you're wearing." She suggested, following me in there.
"Curl my hair my ass. It's too much. Where are we going anyway?" I asked her as I got out, brushed my hair and decided that leaving it to air dry was the best option since I was too lazy.
"Somewhere downtown. Lucas wants to treat us out for lunch. Some Asian restaurant." She said, taking a seat on my bed.
"And I'm coming because I have Asian blood? How racist!" I widened my eyes at her and she laughed.
"No, you're coming because his friend is coming with us so I was like why make him a third wheel when we could bring you?" She said, now flipping through my magazine.
"Wow. How thoughtful," I said, getting my purse. "Let's go."
We came out of the room and saw Lucas and his friend talking, their backs to us.
"Babe, we're ready!" Giselle said. They both turned around at the same time.
"Chris?!" I exclaimed.
"Jasmine?!" He said almost the same time as me.
"You guys know each other?" Lucas asked, looking confused.
I pulled Giselle to the side. "Remember that douche bag I was telling you about who stole our supposedly biggest client while we were in the meeting? Yeah, that's him." I said, crossing my arms.
