Ava is an ordinary girl, her life seemed pretty boring. She was unpopular, but she's been friends with a popular; Bekah since they were little children. The only thing she has to cling onto in her life is friendship, and she can live with that, she doesn't mind one bit. She was always the last to be chose in gym class, and nobody wanted to pair up with her for chemistry experiments, because she grew curious and mixed all the chemicals that she had been told not to, getting herself and her lab partner in detention. Detentions weren't unusual for Ava, she was getting used to them.
Her love life is pretty non-existent, but she loved it that way. Sure, she had small relationships but the most one of her relationships lasted was a week, because they either realized they preferred Bekah, or slept with someone else, or because they realized that she wasn't interested in them in the slightest. Ava always had problem showing her emotions; but not to Bekah.
A new boy joins the school, and Bekah gains a mega crush on him, but Matt shows no interest towards her in the slightest. However, he is majorly interested in Ava, which leaves her confused. He was well-known and popular within a few weeks of him moving there, so why is he interested in her? Was this a joke or something? Eitherway, she didn't care. She didn't like him in the slightest.
