Chapter 4 Half The Gang

Before walking into the tent and sitting down on the floor I put my helmet back on,just in case. Vernal served us all tea,I was glaring at her from behind my visor. When she finished serving us Raven spoke up,"you can wait outside,thank you". Vernal sets the pot down and proceeds to go outside,"so,what's the "truth"? "You know,it's better when it's hot". "You know,you're really obnoxious". I didn't say anything,"the truth is that "truth" is hard to come by. A story of victory for one person is a story of defeat for someone else. By now,your uncle has surely told Ruby and her friends plenty of stories". "Well,he's never given me a reason to doubt him before". That doesn't mean those reasons don't exist. You know,you and your teammates might as well be the poster children of the huntsman academies. Your motives vary,but you all enrolled to try and make the world a better place. It's adorable". "It's what huntsman and huntresses do". "Not all of them. Some people are just in it for the money and the fame,but there's even more that are just looking to grow stronger. Your uncle Qrow and I didn't attend beacon to become huntsmen,we did it to learn how to kill huntsmen". The shock that came across both Yang's and Weiss's face was real,I on the other hand kept a straight face under my helmet."Sir do you think she's telling the truth?" It's a possibility but not a certainty,I didn't realize I didn't mute my helmet,so everyone heard me. They all looked at me confused,don't mind me."Daddy and uncle Qrow left that part out,hm? Aside from Grimm,huntsman were the only ones capable of ruining our raids and hunting us down. Our tribe needed a counterforce. And Qrow and I were the perfect age. The entrance exams were child's play compared to what we'd already been through. We were good. So good,that we caught the attention of beacons very own headmaster,professor Ozpin. Even after we were out on a team,I could tell he was keeping an eye on us. Back then I thought it was because he knew,but it was team STRQ that was he was interested in". At this point Raven had her cup of tea in hand and was standing up facing away from us,"what do you mean by that?" "Constant attention,extra training missions,turning a blind eye whenever we happened to break the rules and get into more trouble than we should've. Sound familiar?" Yang and Weiss looked at each other,they told me stories back when beacon was up how Ozpin let certain things slid when they did something."What your point?" "How much do you know about professor Ozpin? About his past?" "He was...a prodigy. One of the youngest headmasters to be appointed to a school". "Because that's how he planned it. Because the man you know as Ozpin designed those schools and has followers inside every academy on remnant that are loyal to him and no one else". "That doesn't make any sense! How could he have...? No. Why would someone even do that?" "Because old man Ozpin has a great and terrible secret. One that could spread fear across the world. One that he eventually entrusted to our team,and once I knew,there was no going back. I needed to know more,but with every new discovery I made,the more horrifying the world became". "Ok,then tell us. What's the big secret? What's so crazy that the rest of us don't know?" "The creatures of Grimm...have a master named Salem. She can be stopped,she can't be reasoned with,and she will not rest until humanity crumbles at her feet". "What?" Raven turns around and says,"you know you three haven't touched your tea". Yang the stands up,"why should we believe any of this?" "Now you're catching on. So far you've done nothing but accept what others tell you". Raven walks back to us and sets her tea cup on the table,"but you need to question everything". He and Yang were very close,Yang was serious and Raven was calm. She then turns around again and walks a few feet away,"otherwise you'll end up just as blind as Qrow..." Yang was starting to get mad."...and your fool of a father". Yang immediately shot the table making it break and crumble,Raven turned around still as calm as before."Don't you dare talk about my family like that!" I stood up as Vernal came in with a gun raised at Yang,"you need to calm down". I took my pistol out and aimed it at her,and you need to back the hell up. Weiss the grabbed Yang's fist saying "Yang,please". "Listen to your friend,Yang. Your teammates never let you down before". "You don't know the first thing about my teammates! About me! You were never there! You LEFT US! Why?!" She had moved closer to Raven angry,but then became saddened. "I know more then you realize. Not just about you,and just what Iv been told,but things Iv seen with my own eyes. I know the Grimm have a leader,I know people who can come back from the dead,I know that magic is real,and I am prove it. You said Tai told you all about my semblance. Well,I doubt he ever told you what Oz did to my brother and me". She then walks out of the tent,"go see for yourself". Vernal then walks out the other exit,the three of us walk to where Raven went. We were outside and she was gone,"mom?" "Yang,are you okay?" "I'll be fine once we can get her to take us to Ruby". "It's ok if...you're not okay". "You didn't believe what she said,right?" "I...of course not. Well,mot all of it. It was crazy. We have dust,semblances...but,I mean,there's no such thing as magic". That's not true,they both looked at me. She wasn't lying Yang,"so you believe her?" Yes I do,then a raven caws. It starts to fly around our area,"a raven?" "Iv...seen that bird before". "Maybe it belongs to your mom?" It comes back to the camp flying in the trees headed right for us,it then transformed into Raven. She landed right in front of us,I wasn't shocked,I actually guessed that she could turn into a bird,but Yang and Weiss were unresponsive form the shock. Yang eventually spoke up,"how...did you do that?" "Well,I could explain it to you...",she then pulls out her sword and swipes the air behind her,a red glowing portal appears."...or you could ask your uncle". "Your letting us go?" "I'm giving you a choice,stay here with me,and I'll answer all of your questions and more. We can have a fresh start,or...you can go back to Qrow and join Ozpins impossible war against Salem,and meet the same fate as so many others. But can you really go back to trusting someone that's kept so much from you?". You could see Weiss's hesitate action towards that statement,but Yang was serious."All I care about is making sure my sister is safe". "Ugh...",Yang got her bike and got on with Weiss. I stood by the portal with everything on hand,Yang slowly moves up to the portal with her bike. "Yang". She stops and looks behind her,"if you side with her uncle,I may not be as kind the next time we meet". "You weren't kind this time either",she then drives through. I looked back at Raven,I point to the floor. She looks down and sees a small pool of blood,she looks at her hand and sees a small hole on her finger. I pick up a small needle and lick the blood off,just in case I need to find you quickly. She gets pissed,"you little sh-" your right! She stops talking,your right about Ozpin. "So you know his secrets",some of them at least."And you still trust him?" I looked at the portal and back at Raven,he's only human,we make mistakes. I then walk through the portal. When we walked through we came upon him,the famous other bird.

After awhile we made it back to where Qrow and the others or held up in Mistral,he then yells "in back!" I then hear a very familiar voice,"be right there!" We waited for the others,we then see Ruby come out of the kitchen with a plate tea."So,we didn't know how many people were coming,so we just cooked all of it". She finally looked up,she's shocked by what she sees that she drops the plate. She looked scared,and worried,shocked,and wanted to cry. Yang walked forward a bit staying calm,Ruby looked like a scared puppy. She then spoke up louder and nervously,"Yang,I...I'm so sorry! I-I should've stayed,and I should've talked to you more! I'd-I just...I wasn't sure if you wanted me around and-",Yang was slowly moving to Ruby and she spoke. She finally reached her and hugged her,Ruby stopped talking. Yang then spoke up,"I love you". I smiled and looked at them,Ruby the started to cry into Yang's shoulder as she hugged her."I love you too",at this point the others came out of the kitchen and saw what was going on. Mason wasn't with them tho,as they hugged Weiss started to tear up. The two girls then opened up their hug and looked at Weiss,"Weiss". She smiled and ran to them,more then half of team RWBY was reunited. I smiled and looked to my left,I saw Mason just entering the room. He had a bottle of whiskey in his hand,he looked around and saw me first. He was stunned to see me,I smiled and he smiled back. We walked to each other and hugged,"you made it you fuckin crazy son of a bitch". I chuckled as a tear rolled down my cheek,fuck you you sack of shit. He chuckled as we separated,he then looks around again. He locks eyes with the beautiful yellow headed brawler,she had stopped hugging the others at that point. She had tears in her eyes,she ran and jumped into his arms. He caught her and held her close,"Im so sorry...I shouldn't have...I shouldn't have gotten mad at you like that I know it wasn't your fault...","hey hey hey it's ok,Yang it's ok". She smiled at him and cried into his arms,I just looked at them. I backed up and and turned around,she didn't feel the same way about me how I feel about her. I had noticed there was a robotic hand on my shoulder,I turn around and look at her. She was smiling at me,I didn't know what to do. She then hugged me,I didn't expect this. She then whispers in my ear,"I'm sorry". I hugged her back and whispered it's ok,we departed and them the whole gang started to get together for a group hug. At that moment I didn't feel anything,except that it was good to be with friends again.
