When He Reveals That He Likes You

Yoosung X Reader

You look up at him, sure that uncertainty and glumness shone in your eyes. He’s the same as ever, a blank face revealing nothing. Even to someone like you, who has known him for at least a month, his expression gives away nothing. That frustrates you to no end. This whole month – or was it two? – you had been spending time with him and gradually growing closer and closer. You felt the tell tale signs of attraction forming, but you weren’t sure he felt the same. Sometimes, there was a gleam in his eye that made you look twice. Sometimes, he’d grab you teasingly and it would seem like it knocked the breath out of both of you.

Then again, sometimes he seemed so distant from you, like he couldn’t wait to get away. The thing with boys was that you could never guess when they liked you and when they didn’t.

He looked over to you and smiled.

“This is yum,” he said with a mouth full of food. He pointed down at the plate before him, nodding. “Here, have some.”

He poked his fork at a piece of meat and lifted it up to your mouth, waving it around while you kept your mouth tight shut.

“I can feed myself-”

He shoved the piece on meat into your mouth and you had no choice but to bite it off the fork.

“There,” he smiled.

You chewed lazily, vaguely paying attention to the taste and texture of the food. What had he just done? Had he just fed you? Isn’t that something couples do?

You found yourself smiling as the thought of you two being a couple came to you.

“It tastes amazing, right?” He said, knocking you out of your fantasising and wiping the grin from your lips.

You mumbled to agree and he laughed at you.

“I think I’m just about full. How about you?” He asked, still smiling.

“Yeah, I’m about to burst,” you agreed.

“Well, then, let’s move on,” he suggested, standing up and leading the way out of the café.

You stepped out to the breezy afternoon, feeling refreshed by the air. You followed after him as he led the way down a busy footpath, unknowingly being led to another destination.

While it was interesting for your afternoon to be shrouded in mystery, you really wanted to know exactly where you two were going. You had been asking all afternoon, hoping he’d slip up and tell you. But no, he remained secretive, hiding behind either a smile or poker face.

It felt like forever before he finally came to a stop outside a small building. The breeze had grown cold and the afternoon sun had long since hidden behind the tall buildings.

“I’ve got to get going soon,” you said regretfully.

“This won’t take long,” he assured you, winking and sending a shiver down your spine. Or was that his hand brushing your back?

You looked at the house you were in front of to see it was a small residential building. You looked back at him, wondering what his plan was, only to find him sitting on the pavement. His hood was over the top of his head and another jacket rested on his lap.

“Sit down. I brought an extra jacket in case you got cold,” he said, patting the ground beside him.

You sat down, your arm finds a comfortable resting spot against his, and looked at him quizzically.

“So… what are we doing?” You asked, absolutely clueless as to what was going on in his head.

“Just watch,” he laughed, looking at the street around you two.

You were right at the top of a hill and you could see all the way down to the café you had been at before. Up here, it was less busy than at the bottom of the street. In fact, it was almost calm.

The light around you was slowly growing dimmer, making the street dark.

Suddenly, you felt an arm reach around you and grip your shoulders. You looked at the source and looked at him with surprise. You mouth gaped as he smiled and nodded at the street before you.

You looked forward and saw a million lights come alive. Neon lights attached to various shops, street lights, windows and other hidden lights all brightened to make the street seem to come alive. It was an amazing thing to watch, almost magical, and you grinned in excitement.

You looked at him, finally understanding what you had been waiting for, and were met with a serious stare. Your smile quickly dropped and your eyes widened as he brought his head closer to yours. You held your breath as you felt his breath on your neck.

“I like you, (Y/n),” he breathed. “Every time I look at you, every time I hear your voice, I’m reminded of that. I’m sorry if this ruins our friendship, but I thought I’d let you know in some hope-”

“I like you too Yoosungie,” you blurted out, instantly blushing and looking down.

He laughed and his breath tickled your ear. He gripped your shoulders with his hands and pulled away from you, staring into your eyes in a way you thought you could only dream about. Then, he brought his hands up to your face, brought his lips to yours and kissed you.

You would never understand boys, but that couldn’t stop you from trying.
