14 year old Melissa had the biggest crush on her best friend, Simon. Simon of course was one of the cutest boys in the 9th grade. He liked Melissa but she was just his friend, not someone he'd wanna date, or so he thought. The day Melissa told Simon he liked her, started bad and also ended very badly, she was too shy to tell him she had a big crush on him but she wanted to let him know how she felt. Right after the last bell rang, she left her classroom and saw Simon down the stairs.
"Simon!" She called, Simon turned and sent her a smile, she began to blush and didn't watch where she was going, so she tripped and fell down the stairs. Simon caught her. Her other 2 friends Katie and Liv watched from around the corner.
"Are you okay?" He asked, she nodded but her embarassment stung hard.
"I need to talk to you.." she said, he just looked at her.
"Sure, what's up?" He asked.
"I'm nervous to say.." she confessed.
"Just say it Mel. How bad could it be? Are you gonna say you've got a crush on me or something?" He joked, but he saw Melissa's facial expression change.
"Woah.. you do.." he said.
"I'm sorry, I'll go.." She said, he got her arm.
"No, stop. It's okay. It's just.. I don't feel the same way.." he told her with sadness, "I'm real sorry" he said to her.
"It's okay.." she replied, her heartbreak was evident.
"Are we still best friend's?" He asked, she smiled as her eyes began to water.
"Yeah.. of course..." she replied as she walked away.
"Bye Simon..." she said.
"Bye.." he told her with sadness.
