The hunt had begun. The audience gazed at the calmness of the lake and all the hunters stood in the air with their weapons pointed down towards it, waiting for the prey to surface. As the startball hit the water and disrupted the calm, a stir occurred and the first creature of the hunting festival jumped out of it with great frenzy.
It was a giant fish named dragana. A long red aquatic animal that had teeth as sharp as a sword and could breathe fire.
"This one's mine" said Dusk and swung his axe at the fish and sliced him up in two pieces, even the tiny fireball it was attempting to spit was slashed down.
The clan of crowbs cheered at the slaying of the first creature and Dusk stood proud.
"And that's the opening of the hunt!" said Duncan pointing toward Dusk.
"Tch, it was nothing" smirked Dusk and the pieces of the dragana fell back into the lake.
"That was one big scary fish" said Quzil with wide eyes still working on believing what he had seen.
"I know, it's a fish called dragana. It's my first time seeing one too. Also my first time seeing one being killed" said Zwart looking at a tiny pocket book.
"What's that you're reading?" asked Quzil.
"Oh, it's a book where I write about all the creatures of the grand lake that I've been observing for so many years" he said licking his finger and flipping the pages.
"And what does it say about these dragana creatures?" asked Quzil.
"It says that these fire breathing fishes only hunt above the waters and they have no specific taste, they are so fearsome that-" Zwart paused, staring at the page and then looked at Quzil.
"So fearsome that what?" Quzil asked.
"That they feel no remorse killing and devouring their own" said Zwart looking at the hunters with concern. While the crowbs clan was still cheering and celebrating, Dusk noticed the body of the dragana he had killed had vanished and there only remained blood on the water surface.
"So it's true after all" he smirked again. "You wimps might want to be more careful, they creatures don't mess around when it comes to food. If you let your guard down, you might be the one who gets hunted" he alerted them.
"Hey, you hear that?" said Presto, carefully looking at the water that had started to shimmer.
"Oh, something big is coming" said Rico, shielding himself.
The shimmering water started rising a bit and suddenly a huge pack of deadly draganas dashed out shooting little fireballs at the hunters and the harpies.
"This is what I had hoped for!" said Gloria as she swooped the little monsters away with her whip as one brushes their shelf with a broom.
"And there goes the swanie Gloria gloriously slaying the nasty beasts, overtaking Dusk's record" commented Duncan.
"That was just a warm up, I'm just getting started, you know" said Dusk swinging his axe in preparation.
Gloria's slaying numbers kept increasing and the swanies clan celebrated by singing a melodious hymn.
"Oh, do shut up!" said the little hummingherp Angus as he kept slamming his slamhammer on the draganas. Some fell back into the lake and some on the shore.
"How do you like that, eh?" he laughed and the clan of hummingherp cheered wildly, laughing with their tongue sticking out and banging their fruitwine glasses with each other.
"That's all you got little birdie? I'll show you how hunting is done" said Presto and darted with full speed with his beakgloves forward, leaving a shadowy trail behind. He sent a bunch of draganas flying in all directions.
