Prologue
Greek mythology is one of the oldest myths know to man, in these myths there are twelve Olympian gods; Zeus the ruler and god of lightning, Hera Queen of Olympus and goddess of marriage and children, Poseidon god of the oceans and earthquakes, Athena goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, Demeter goddess of grain, the archery twins Artemis goddess of the moon and hunt and Apollo god of the sun and prophecy, Ares the god of war, Hermes the messenger and god of thieves, Hephaestus the blacksmith and god of fire, Dionysus the god of wine and vegetation and Aphrodite the goddess of beauty and love. Many modern day people don't even know about the Olympians let alone that they exist.
Many of the heroes in these myths are demigods, half human half god. A demigod is faster, smarter and stronger than normal humans, which is why Zeus had put up restriction to where the Olympians are allowed to have their demigods, some countries are forbidden for varies reasons; America for its strong military power, Iraq for being an almost permanent warzone and Germany for its bloody past thanks to Hitler, who was in fact the demigod of Hades the lord of the Underworld an death.
Zeus also created a shelter, which is located in a oasis in the middle of a desert in Greece, to house all the risky demigods like the children of; Zeus, Apollo, Ares, Athena, Poseidon and even Hades, also all the homeless demigods.
On the sixteenth birthday of a demigod Hermes would be sent down to collect the risky demigod and take him/her to the shelter. For centuries the Olympians have respected the restrictions, but now one goddess has caused confusion on Olympus...
Chapter 1
On Olympus the gods were arguing amongst themselves ever since Hermes brought the news that there was a demigod living in America and since none of the Olympians has claimed the half-blood, Zeus started to suspect Hades of being the parent. "If someone does not claim her within the hour, I will assume that she is of Hades and dispose of her." He declared.
"She is not a threat to you Zeus." Athena protested.
"How do you know that Athena?"
"One I know everything and two she is a daughter of Wisdom." She calmly replied
"You!" Zeus looked surprised, though he couldn't be blamed; this was very uncharacteristic of her. "Athena you should have known better."
"I trust my judgment."
"Why did you take the thing to America?"
"That thing is my daughter! Besides her father lived there where was I suppose to take her since you do not allow us to raise our children here on Olympus?"
"You could have taken her to the shelter."
"No! She had to grow up with mortals."
"I don't see what difference it would have made."
"With all due respect, you should really not question my judgment."
"Very well then," he turned to Hermes, "Hermes go and notify the mortal father that the demigod will leave for the shelter tomorrow."
"But her sixteenth birthday is not for another month." Athena protested.
"I am not going to waste another minute in getting her out of America, especially since she is your child."
"Why?"
"Her wisdom and natural battle instinct makes her even more dangerous."
"Ha, the all powerful Zeus is afraid of a fifteen year old mortal girl."
"Don't patronize me, Hermes will take the child to the shelter and if she were to refuse I will kill her, and that is final. Now go Hermes." The wings on Hermes's sandals started to flap.
