There's this funny thing called trust in the human race. Toying with it is as dangerous as toying with a fire; the right amount is extremely useful, but too much or too little will harm you. A lot of people say that love is the most painful emotion, but I'd disagree. That betrayal you feel when someone you trusted stabs you in the back feels worse. So does feeling like you don't have a friend in the world.
I can't imagine what it feels like not trusting someone. Even in the most suspicious points in my life, there was always one person I had full trust in: my best friend, Persephone. How can you get through life without trusting at least one person?
If I can give you one piece of advice on trust, though, it's that you want to be careful who you give it to. Giving too much of it to the wrong person will kill you in the end. And sometimes, no matter how much you want someone to trust you, as soon as you earn that trust, you'll wish you never got it. Trust me.
