As interesting as the last story was, it was fleeting. Events and situations seemed to unfold so quickly that they couldn't possibly be true, however, as dramatic as they are, they are true. Now, reader, you may be wondering if every story is much like the kaleidoscope of unlikely drama that was the first story. And the answer to that question is yes.
When Emily was turning nine years old, she, like many nine year old girls, wanted to have the perfect birthday sleepover party. She invited all of her friends, including Bridget to her house for a night filled with girly activities and games.
The night was in full swing and the party was going very well. All of the girls were sitting in Emily's room in their matching pajamas waiting for Emily's mom to order pizza. The girls were talking, chatting, laughing... until everyone's attention diverted to a girl (whose name was changed to Jess for her own privacy purposes). Jess was talking to Dee (another changed name), who she never really got along well with. Inevitably the two began to quarrel and -fast forward- Jess lightly pushes Dee.
At this, Emily begins to see her perfect party cracking at the seams. She needed to spring into action to secure the fun of the rest of the night. She stood up and asked them not to fight.
"Please don't be mad at each other and push each other. Please." Emily said.
"I'm upset that she pushed me!" Dee answered.
"Well I'm pushing Pam and she's not mad." Emily playfully push a girl whose name I changed to Pam. Pam giggled.
"She thinks its funny." Emily went around the room playfully pushing all the girls and they all start laughing. "See everyone is laughing and we don't even remember what we were all fighting about."
Emily walks to Bridget, who is sitting by the window, and in the excitement of the situation, she pushes her a little too hard.
Bridget's head hits the window sill and is immediately knocked unconscious. The girls yell. Emily starts crying. Emily's mom rushed into the room and grabs Bridget, while dialing 911. Jess is screaming. Dee is panting. Emily believes that she has killed her best friend in the whole world. She get short of breath.
"I can't believe it! I've killed her! I've killed her! Bridget! Bridget!" She runs to the window sill and slams her forehead into the edge as hard as she could force herself.
She falls to the floor. Unconscious.
Lovely, isn't it? The love between the two friends is so strong that one would be willing to slam her head into a wall for the other. The scene of the hysterical girls after Emily falls is pretty hectic. I could waste my time and yours describing it to you, but the real story begins when Emily and Bridget wake up next to each other in a two-bed room in a crowded hospital.
It was just them in the room until a nurse came in and told the both of them that their families would be with them in an hour.
"Doctor? How long have I been asleep?" Emily asked.
"About a day for the both of you." The nurse said. "You both took pretty bad hits but luckily, you're both just fine. You might even be able to go home tomorrow."
"Wait. Nothing happened to Emily, though. Just me." Bridget said.
Emily struggled to remember what happened. "I don't know why we are even here."
The nurse then explained to both girls what happened last night. "Your friends were all really worried. They'll be happy to know you're both okay." Then she left.
The girls laid in their beds talking. First, about the party, then about random stuff, then they got bored.
"We've been here for hours." Bridget whined.
