I tugged on my sleeves, hiding my scars of my past self harming issues. Unlike the rest of the girls at my school, i had some issues and didnt know how to cope.
My father left when I was about 3 years old. My mom didnt seem to understand my troubles. Sure I was considered the most popular girl at school, but I'm allowed to break down and cry.

"Hey Tee!" my best friend, Luke, gave me a huge smile. Lukes hair was styled perfectly- as always- and he had a small black lip piercing. I can never seem to remember his friends name that always follows him. I think hes Asian or something.
"Hey!" I smiled back. I glanced around the cafe to see a face i hadnt seen before. He looked alone and fragile. His dark-blonde hair sweeped over his forehead perfectly. He had grey-green eyes. He looked mysterious. I liked it.
"Whos that?" i asked Luke.
"I think his name is Ashton, hes a new student, hes from australia." Luke quickly explained. Of course he would know. Hes a teacher assistant, or a TA.
Ashton was playing with his thumbs and he had no one to talk to. He wore a shirt that said "The Strokes" along with a hoodie and a pair of thick framed glasses. He wasnt bad looking. I walked over to him and was going to sit with him when gemma, my other best friend, called me over.
"Teegan!" she exclaimed happily. Ashton looked up and gave me a faint smile, I tried my best to smile back before I got pulled into my other group. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"You werent really going to talk to him were you?" Gemma asked me.
"Hes new, hes really cute too." I said glancing over my shoulder.
I hadnt noticed Ashton walking towards me until now. I tucked a piece of my hair behing my ear.
"Hey, I'm Ashton." He quietly said. I studied his facial feautures. His jaw-line fixed his face all together. His eyes were gorgeous. His accent was adorable.
"I'm Teegan." i smiled at him and he gave me a smile back. I loved it.
He stared at his feet and I noticed scars on his wrists.
does he cut too? I thought to myself
"Could you show me to Mr. Long's room?" he asked breaking the silence. I nodded.
"I have him first period too." I said back to Ashton. He smiled.
We walked siletly to his room. Ashton was a lot taller than I was. His skinny jeans complimented his long legs. Oh God he was so cute.
"Well here we are, you can sit with me if you'd like" I suggusted.
"Um.. Sure." he said. We took our seats.
"So where are you from?" I asked already knowing the answer.
"Australia." He said quickly. "my mum and I just moved here." I nodded.
"Do you.." I lowered my voice, "cut?"
His eyes grew wide of panic.
"It's okay because," I pulled up my sleeve to reveal puffy scars "I did too."
He gave me a strange look. "Why? You seem so popular." he scoffed.
"Trust me, none of those fake friends know about this. You and my mom are currently the only two people in the world that know."
"Well wow I'm so honored" he sarcastially said earning a laugh from me.
The bell rang and we smiled at each other. I couldnt wait to see what would become of me and Ashton.

Before I knew it school was over and i found Ashton walks home the same way I do.
"Are you like following me?" I asked Ashton laughing.
"Well Ms. Teegan, as bad as it looks, no im not." he laughed back.
"So how was your first day?" I asked him looking up at him.
"It was good, Its better now."
"Well aren't you just the flirt of the year." I gave him a smile.
"Let me ask you something." Ashton said
"Shoot"
"Why did you cut? I mean you are only the most popular and gorgeous girl at this school." I could feel my cheeks getting red at the comment Ashton had jut made about me.
"No one really understood what i was going through. I am an only child so I had no one to talk to. I felt worthless and useless you know? Like if i just commited suicide no one would really care. Life would go on. I hated myself. I thought everyone hated me." I said while Ashton stared down at me. "you?"
"I was bullied an awful lot in Australia. My father was an alcoholic. My mom didnt care."
"Im sorry-" I got cut off
"Dont be, thats the last thing I want you to be."
"Ashton?"
"Yeah?"
"You have really pretty eyes."
"Teegan?"
"Yeah?" I said giggling
"Dont break tonight."
