Chapter 3: Why didn’t HE kill me?!

Nadison’s POV

I heard the irritating sound of my alarm clock. I whacked it and found myself perfectly on my bed, with my regular night gown on. As if nothing happened. I stretched out my right leg to see if it was broken. But it wasn’t! This must be a dream!

I quickly got up and something had caught my attention.

“I have plans for you”

I read the creepy note that was laid neatly on my desk. My heart began to drop. Who the hell wrote this note? Of course it wasn’t mom, dad, or Dave, my younger brother. Dave can prank me at times, but his handwriting is way too far from this note’s. Plus, he’s not in the mood of pranking right now, early in the morning… and I always lock my bedroom door.

He’s the laziest guy I know.

I heard the big gust of wind from my window which was mysteriously opened.

Odd.

I didn’t leave my window opened!

As I slowly closed the window, I caught a glimpse of the woods. I felt the breeze as it went through the towering trees.

I crumpled the note and threw it in the trash bin.

Weird.

Was it real?

-_-

I decided to try to forget it.

I fixed myself, change my night gown to a blue-striped dress and red converse. I got my backpack and laptop which I thought wasn’t there! I went downstairs and saw another note. Thankfully it was just from mom and dad.

“Dear, there are some leftover tuna sandwiches at the dining table. Last night we actually thought you were gone when you didn’t join us for dinner! Until we found out you were just in your room, sleeping… Have a nice day!”

I felt relieved and gobbled all the leftover tuna sandwiches and finished it off with a warm glass of milk, I was really, really hungry.

I left the house and as usual, I strolled going to school. I passed by the woods and kept walking, trying to ignore it and I don’t even know why.

At class, we had a Chemistry pop quiz and I kind of flunked it. Well, all of us did! But for me it would be pretty ironic. Nadison, you’re even the editor-in-chief! How could you?!

I couldn’t believe I feel dumber today. Yes, that’s one of challenges in my years of high school, balancing my job to my studies!

Classes have dismissed, and the same scenarios have happened, but before Amber left hurriedly, she recommended that I should really take a break from all that school stress. She even bought me a bag of beauty products that would conceal my face from stress. How.. kind… of her. Am I really breaking out?

I went to the school paper office and I was surprised to see a number of my staffers working! Typing articles and arranging them on the layout. They all looked at me and smiled.

“Ma’am… How did this happen?” I queried to our adviser shockingly.

“Well what really happened is that your best friend, Amber Allison, have bribed all of them to work. She told, that you were suffering from loads of stress and that you were going home so late”.

She mordantly said.

“How…. Kind of her…”

I flatly stated. Why is Amber acting differently lately? This was the only time that she cared very much!
