If you want to know his heart, pay close attention to what angers him
Leon was easily jealous...something he wasn't proud of, but none the less he was. He sitting across the room watching his boyfriend get hit on by some random guy in class...it really angered him. The thought of another person making his boyfriend smile disturbed him but he knew he couldn't just go over there...it would just cause conflict. So he sat across the room trying to calm his jealous thinking.
If you want to know his mind, listen for the words that linger in his silence
Talking to his boyfriend was the highlight of Leon's day. They would sit and talk for hours. About anything and everything...it was pure innocent love. Leon would tell his jokes and stories that would leave his boyfriend in tears. His boyfriend would quietly say "I love you" while laughing...Leon would whisper back "I love you too." he let the words slowly fall off his tongue. Leaving both boys in a comfortable silence.
If you want to know his soul, look at where his eyes are when you catch him smiling
Aaron would often catch Leon starring off into the distance. They were at the diner eating dinner. Aaron was talking when he noticed Leon not responding back. He would zone out and start smiling. But at what? The old couple sitting behind them. Or the dad chasing after his son, trying to get him to put on his jacket. Or was it the song playing in the background. Aaron started to sing along.
"I just need someone in my life to give it structure" he caught Leon's attention.
Maybe Leon was staring at the old couple and the dad chasing after his kid. And maybe he was smiling at the because of the song playing.
"I love you so" they sang along to the chorus. Both boys smiling at each other, maybe for the same reasons but maybe not. It didn't matter cause in that moment they were just happy.
Both still trying to figure each other out.
