As the sunshine to the East
Invaders entered from the West
They came along with darkness
And spread the loneliness

Every hearts filled with pain
Every Filipinos were in vain
They fought for what they aim
Charged emotions they contain

Experienced brutally of execution
No escape from continuous Excruciation
Captivated and suffered unlawful imprisonment
Having the feeling of dearth of enlightenment

Lives were at stake
Hearing their cries in grieve
And in every mistake
Barbaric punishment they received

They dreamt for freedom and liberty
But before they unchain from the yoke of cruelty
They suffered from Spanish slavery
As what is conveyed in history
