A WISHFUL BREEZE
Song: Devil In Me Halsey
7 MONTHS LATER
Elias POV
The seattle departments did it's usual routine of things. Speculation grew and the skies became dreary. Quiet for the most part. Winter was nearing and there wasn't much to do. Sorrow drenched through the lands since the disappearance of Ethan and the death of Ariana.
"So.." Violet asked losing my train of thought.
"Yeah?" I confusingly asked.
"How is Kaylen?. She must be on the verge of having her baby." Violet asked as she sat down next to me in the old coffee shop.
"She is. Doc wants to hold her in for the rest of the time." I nodded. "And you?"
Violet smirked as she sat back in her seat. "Still living the dream being top CEO in the police department?" I sarcastically expressed.
"Yeah you could say that. It's been good, can't say for once I've actually been happier. the business has been growing immensely people wanting to be hired. Story was released everywhere however. With Cecilia now being behind bars I question myself. What else is there to do?" She added.
"Work. work, work and work. You do what you have to you know. However I as well think of the odds as I imagine the time I used to have with Kaylen's family. Just Kaylen now." I laughed but still kept a solid conscious face.
"I get it Eli. it's hard it's always hard that's one thing that will never leave however we move forward. You have Kaylen hold on to her while you can. Make sure she gets all the support she needs but most of all be happy. Elias you need to be happy." Violet added as she stopped to sip on her hot cup.
"Than what?" I asked as I placed my hand on my forehead.
Violet shook her head as she looked out to the streets of Seattle.
"Elias.. you're a big boy. Not for me to decide you gotta figure things out." She sipped her cup once more.
"I've been known for employment elsewhere." I added trying to change the sorrow topic.
"Really?" She brightened.
"Yeah but I'm not taking it." I added dropping happiness back to sorrow.
"Why? Where was it located?" She asked.
"Portland Oregon. I dropped out because I needed to be here with Kaylen. I don't feel packing up and leaving everything." I added.
"Well it's not much far of a drive.. Wouldn't be so bad. Is it the shack?" She asked feeling a bit heavy on the topic.
"No.. it's not the.. I haven't been there is almost 9 months. I'm not ever going back. It's locked up. I'll probably head back only when.. Well yeah if I was planning on moving or pass it down to my cousin or someone who knows about it." I glistened the thought.
"No offense but I'm not sure anyone would take the sexually sadistic place. Have fun giving that away.." She laughed.
"I'm not." I laughed as well.
"Just not going back to it." I expressed as she nodded and went back to sipping her cup of coffee.
"No but if you have a minute I'd like to know what really ended up happening to her." I added as she blanked a serious expression.
"Who? Cecilia?" Violet questioned.
"Yeah,"
"Oh not much I mean.. You know her.. She's in jail under life sentence." Violet confusingly expressed as if I was retarded.
