chapter 1- their childhood

In park: 6:00 pm

A boy is sitting on a bench undar a trèe holding his guitar, all set to play his tune.

Just then a boy come to him and ask him to start playing as everyone has gathered around. Closing his eyes he start playing his tune. And everyone start enjoying it. After he finished his tune everyone start clapping for him.

One friend: wow. Manik that was awesome.

Manik opened his eyes and smile at his friends.

2nd friend: yes manik. He is right. Please play some more na...

Manik: no guys. Not today. Abhi mujhe jana hoga. Dad phirse naraz ho jayenge.

His friends: kya yaar. Accha chal kal phirse play karega  na hamare liye?

Manik: yes. I will.

His friends: promise?

Manik: promise...

Manik bids bye to everyone promising them that he will come back tomorrow. He leaves for his residence..

Scene shift to Malhotra residence

Rajeev malhotra is sitting in front of  dinning table with a boy. Who is non other then his younger son dhruv.

Dhruv: Dad my monthly exam's result  is out. I got 98 percent.

Rajeev: well done my son well done. Keep it up. I'm proud of of you. He said patting his shoulder.

Rajeev: by the way where is your bhai?

Dhruv was about to answer but his eyes fell on manik

Dhruv: there he his dad

Rajeev looks towards manik but as his eye fell on manik's guitar he become furious..

Manik: good evening.

Rajeev: good evening? Seriously manik!! He said sarcastically..

Dhruv: what happend dad?

Rajeev: just look at him. He is again carrying that useless thing. He know i hate this but he love to irritate me.

Manik: enough dad. Kyun aap hamesha aisa bolte hain? This is not a useless thing,this is my life,my dream. Aap samajhte kyun nehi.

Rajeev: kya samjhu main? Parhai likhai nehi karna hain kya? Hamesha jiddi banke nehi reh sakta. You have to leave music.

Manik:no i won't. I want to become a singer.

Rajeev become very angry on manik

Rajeev: do whatever you want to do but remember one thing, i will never support you in this. Jab logo ke dhakke khayega tab pata chalega kya galti kiya tumne  meri baat nehi sunke.

Manik: i also don't need your support. Main khudh karke dikhaunga.

Saying this manik left for his room.

Rajeev: dekha?dekha tumne dhruv. Again he misbehaved with me because of music.

Dhruv: dad please calm down.

Rajeev: manik tere jaisa kyun nehi ban sakta?

He said in a broken voice..

Manik come in his room and bangs the door then he sits on floor and and cries

He takes out a picture from his side table and caress it.

Manik to himself: why mom why? Why did you leave me? Nobody love's me. Why can't dad understand that i love music. After you left this is the only thing which kept me alive

Manik cries very badly. He was completely unaware that someone was watching him. A little girl is watching him from her window. Her name is nandini murthy. 9 years old. She lives in the opposite side of malhotra residence. She is there cute little neighbour. Her room window is opposite to manik's room window.

he is dhruv's class mate and best friend also. Nandini everyday watch manik secretly but manik never noticed it. He was still unaware of her staring session. Watching him cry a tear drop fell from eyes also..

  8:a.m

Manik and dhruv left for school and there they meet nandini. She says hello to manik very sweetly. He nods and leaves from there. Nandini and dhruv gose to there classroom. Nandini saw manik in the morning and she knows  manik is very upset. But she want to know what happened so she enquiries dhruv

Nandini: what happened dhruv? You look distracted.

Dhruv: you know nandu,kal shaam ko dad ne bhaiya ko bohot danta. Bhaiya ko kitna buda lag raha hoga..

Nandini: don't worry dhruv. Papa kehte he parents apne baccho se jeyada din tak gussa nehi reh sakte. Dekhna uncle ka gussa bhi shaant ho jayega.

Dhruv: really nandu?

Nandini:yes. Mere papa kabhi wrong nehi hote

Nandini says proudly.

Nandini to herself: please bhagwan ji manik aur uncle ko dost banado. Woh log katti he abhi ek dusre se. Pata nehi woh dono kyun ladte hain. Main aur papa kabhi fight nehi karte. Please forgive them.. agar apne nehi kiya to phir main apke saath chocolate share nehi karungi

She said with her cute pout.
