Chapter 4 ~ Hayes' POV

Hayes' POV:

I kept replaying what had happened in my head. Did she like me or was it just her being nice? I walked back to my house without actually realising that I was walking, my head was all over the place.

"Hayes definitely has a massive crush on Ellie" I heard Nash say as I walked in the front door.

"Shut up Nash!" I yelled as I walked up to my room. I sat on my bed for a while, just thinking. Was she only being nice to me because Nash was my brother? Was she just trying to get closer to Cameron? I just don't know how I'm supposed to feel!

There was a knock at my door and I looked over to see Cameron.

"You've been up here for a while. Sky was starting to get worried" he said with a small laugh.

"I'm fine. Just thinking" I said with a small sigh.

"Thinking about Ellie?" he said and he sat next to me on the bed. I just looked at him and then the floor.

"If it makes you feel any better, I think she likes you too" Cameron said with a smile.

"I never said I liked her" I said and I looked up at him with a smirk.

"Yes you do! Don't lie!" Cam said and he gave me a playful nudge on the shoulder. I looked down at the floor but I couldn't hide the smile from my face.

"By the way, I think you two would be cute! I saw you on the trampoline earlier" he said and then he left. I decided that it was getting late at that point so I took the shirt I was wearing off and I got into bed.

A minute later I heard my phone buzz from the table beside me.

Ellie: Tonight was the best! Goodnight Hayes! ;)

Hayes: Yeah, tonight was awesome! Night Ellie! :P

I sent the message and then I fell asleep.

~next day~

I woke up early and I don't know why. I usually wake up really late during holidays; especially summer break. I checked the time on my phone to see that it was 8:57am. Too early! I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep but it wasn't working so I got up and went looking for some food downstairs. Cameron was asleep on the lounge and that gave me a good idea for a vine.

"Smack Cam" I whispered into the camera after putting whipped cream on my hand. I smacked Cameron's face so hard that he screamed and rolled off the lounge.

"What was that for?" he asked and he put his hand up to his cream covered cheek.

"You were the one who was passed out on our lounge!" I said defensively.

"Please don't tell me you vines that!" Cam whined. I just smirked evilly and posted it onto vine. Then my phone vibrated in my hand and I check who the message was from.

Ellie: Nice vine! I'm surprised ur awake!

Hayes: Eh! Couldn't sleep! Why r u awake???

Ellie: Same as you! When u coming over?

Hayes: Whenever you want me to ;)

Ellie: U r such a flirt! Just come over already!!!

Hayes: Cam says hi!

Ellie: Hi Cam! Jade wants to play with Skylynn! Does she wanna come over too?

Hayes: I'm sure she'd love to! I'll go get her!

Ellie: Kk! I'll be waiting for you!

Hayes: See u in a few mins! :)

I sent the message then I ran upstairs to get Sky. I found her sitting on the floor playing with some of her dolls.

"Do you wanna go over to Jade's house for a play?" I asked her. She nodded quickly and stood up.

"Is Ellie going to be there?" she asked in her innocent four year old voice.

"Yeah, why do you want to know?" I replied.

"When are you two going to get married?" she asked me. I just laughed and picked her up. She started laughing like a crazy person.

"Hayes, you're still in your pyjamas!" she said as I carried her down the hall. I quickly put her down and ran into my room to get changed. When I was changed I ran back downstairs to find Skylynn playing with Cameron.

"Come on Sky, we have to go now" I said and I picked her up off of Cam's lap.

"But I wanna play with Cam!" she said folding her arms.

"I thought you wanted to play with Jade?" I asked her.

"Oh! I forgot! Let's go see Jade!" she said excitedly.

"Don't forget what I said! She likes you too!" Cam called to me as we had just gotten to the door. I smiled slightly and walked out the front with Skylynn still in my arms.

When we got there I knocked on the door but my hand were really shaky and I didn't know why. Ellie threw the door open and stood there with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey Internet boy! Hi Skylynn!" she said and Skylynn laughed.

"Sup Aussie? I really need a new nickname for you!" I said causing her to laugh. She nodded and invited us inside. Ellie showed Sky where Jade's room was and then the two of us went into her room.

"Wow!" was all I could say as I walked in. It wasn't very big but it was still a good sized room. There were posters of different bands hung all across the walls and even some famous famous Australian basketball players. A big bookshelf stood in the corner of the room beside her king single bed. It was filled to the rim with books. There was a small flat screen tv hanging on the wall across from her bed and a small walk-in wardrobe beside it.

"It's not much but I haven't really unpacked everything yet. Just the posters" she said with a smile.

"It's cool!" I said and I flopped onto her bed, she laughed and sat down beside me. She didn't say anything and I just layed across her bed.

"It's nice hanging out with you. You're not loud or complicated like most of my friends" I said and she smile. She put her head on the pillow beside me and laid out across the bed.

"And you're just the most amazing person. I really wasn't expecting to make friends until school starts" she said and I put my arm around her shoulders behind her head. "Wanna come meet my mom?" she asked and she started to stand up.

"Aww! It was nice just sitting there" I said and I stuck my bottom lip out at her. She just laughed and grabbed my hand. We walked downstairs and into the kitchen.

"Mom, this is Hayes!" Ellie introduced. I smiled and waved at Mrs Lewis.

"Hi Hayes! Call me Jules" she said to me with an equally big smile.

"Okay thanks. I like your house!" I said being polite but the house actually was nice.

"That's a lovely thing to say! I'm sure you and Ellie will be great friends!" she said and she went back to cleaning some of the plates off of the counter top.

Ellie grabbed my hand and dragged me out the back of the house. There was a basketball ring set up but everything else was still in boxes scattered all around the backyard.

"You really love your basketball don't you?" I said with a laugh. She found a basketball and nodded excitedly.

"Come on pretty boy! Let's play!" she said with a smirk. I laughed and walked over to her.

"Game on! Just warning you that I don't lose!" I said and I quickly grabbed the ball from her hands.

"You're on!" she yelled and chased after me. This was going to be an interesting game.
