Afraid

Promise

Almost another month passes. This time I'm really excited, I'm pregnant and it was with MY permission. Jack and i are so happy, and Jax is really excited. "Mommy when will baby get here?" I smiled, "well, in about eight months you will get to see baby. Okay?" He playfully frowned, "i wanna see baby now!" Jack picked him up, "well buddy, you'll have to wait. Baby isn't ready yet, but when it is mommy will know." Jax nodded, "okay daddy." I guess Jack really HAS changed. He is a good father, a good boyfriend, and incredibly nice and he doesn't want me hurt. He is completely opposite from what he was years ago. Jack smiled at me, "Elsa, im so sorry for what i did years ago. I wasnt thinking of anyone but myself. I want to try and make it up to you the best i can." He got on one knee, "will you marry me?" Jax smiled and jumped up and down, "say yes mommy, say yes!" I smiled at my happy little boy, then at Jack, "of course i will." He pulled a ring out of his pocket and slid it on my finger, then stood and kissed me. "Jack?" He smiled, "yes dear?" "Why did you rape me years ago, and now are completely different?" He sighed, "Elsa, i was a drug addict. I raped and killed when i was drugged. I had no control. But i quit drugs for good and im happy now. I wanted to change, and now that i have, i've never been happier." "Wait, why didn't you kill me when you had the chance? You killed the others." "I-i don't know, i guess i wanted you to live and suffer. But thats over now, and i never want to hurt anyone again." I smiled and kissed him, "what's passed is passed, you are a better man now and care for me and our son." He smiled and rubbed my stomach, "and the new baby." Jax heard everything, "did daddy hurt mommy?" Jack looked from me to Jax, "y-yes i did buddy, a long time ago. But you are too young to understand, i'll tell you when you are older." Jax nodded, "okay daddy."

I am almost three months pregnant now. Jack is absolutely in love with the baby. He's a completely changed man, he's a wonderful father and boyfriend. "Elsa lay down a while, don't overwork yourself." I giggled, "Jack I'm fine, i've done this before." We were cleaning the house up a bit and setting up the baby's room. Jack continued working, "i just don't want you hurting yourself or the baby." I smiled and kissed him softly, "i told you im fine. I've done this before when i was pregnant with Jax." Jack smiled, "just be careful." I nodded, "i will honey, promise." I finished setting up the crib and stood by Jack, looking at it, "it's perfect." Jack smiled, "almost." I looked at him and he went to the door and picked up something from the hall, "here. For the baby." I smiled and took the gift, opening the box. What i saw almost made me cry, it was a picture of us and Jax in the park. And beside that was my last ultrasound picture. The frame was even decorated with glitter and ribbon. "Oh Jack, i love it." We hugged and he smiled, "anything for you Elsa." I sat the picture frame on the table by the rocking chair, "perfect." Jax came in the room, "mommy, can i help too?" Jack smiled and picked him up, "of course you can buddy, we still have a couple things in that box over there, how about getting those for me." Jax smiled, "okay daddy." Jax went over to the box and pulled out a baby pillow, a blanket, and a stuffed bear, "these daddy?" Jack nodded, "yep, you wanna help me finish the crib?" Jax nodded, "uhuh." Jack picked him up and helped him situate the items in the crib, "there. Now it's perfect."
