You Again

Chapter 21

Saturday March 25th 1:28 am

As the last shudder transcended his body, Donny rolled to the side so as not to crush Sindy under him. Both panting for breath an unwelcome thought crosses his mind. Staring up at the night sky he can't help but ask "Did you mean it?"

Turning to lay on her side facing him, Sindy answers his question with a confused one of her own "mean what?"

"Marriage" Still staring straight ahead, Donny refuses to look anywhere near her in fear that she only said yes in the heat of the moment, regretting her answer now that she got her release and didn't mean it.

"Did you mean it? Asking."

"I've never been more sure of anything in my life."

Hearing a not at all subtle sigh of relief come from her forces Donnys head to finally look at her.

"Of course I want to marry you." shimmying over to cuddle into his side, Sindy says the 3 words he wants to hear most "I love you"

Placing a loving kiss upon her lips, Donny grabs the second blanket and spreads it over them, feeling her shiver now that their bodies have cooled down and they can feel the cool night air more harshly.

"We should go inside" Claims Sindy as she glues herself more to his side, being counterproductive to her words.

"Inside we share a bed with a 2 year old and would have to wear clothes. Besides, I'm much to comfortable with my fiance in my arms to move."

Humming her agreement, Sindy nearly falls to sleep before she remembers something causing her head to shoot up. "Hey, where's my ring!"

Resting the arm not wrapped around her behind his head, Donny sports a big grin on his face. "Took you long enough. I'll have to talk to Aria in the morning, she has my mother's engagement ring in her jewelry box for safe keeping for me."

Irked that another woman has her engagement ring, she can't keep the jealousy out of her voice as she asks "And why the hell does she have it?"

Placing an amused kiss to her forehead, Donny gently strokes her back as he softly explains. "My mom always wanted whatever girl I married to have her rings or at least one of them. She figured I was old enough that I should have them ready if I ever needed them. I didn't trust myself not to lose them, and frankly I don't think my mom and Ar did at all, so we decided she would hold them for me till I asked. At least that way we all knew where it would be and that it was safe instead of getting lost in my laundry. I would go get it now but I'm pretty sure Luke and Aria are in the same position you and I are."

Pursing her lips at his sound logic, she says whatever she can as a comeback. "You better still get on one knee"

Feeling his chest shake with quiet laughter, Sindy shoves her face into his side trying to fight the urge to smile.

"As you wish"
