The new boy

It was a casual day at  school in September, the teacher jabbering on about god knows and the half asleep teenagers falling asleep at every word. School had started again just under a week ago after the summer holidays; To be honest it was much of a summer in Britain other than the occasional spells of suns arising from behind the clouds. Noah was one of those quiet boys who had no friends and felt almost isolated from the world, even from his own alcoholic mother and abusive father; Noah's escape from all this was the small blades hidden in his chestnut, brown draws next to his small bed in a closet room. Noah was always afraid of his parents due to their loudness and how they absorbed so much alcohol in a day. When at the end of the day, everyone feared that they had homework or if they could play on their Xbox's or PlayStation's- Noah's was his own home, his safety and if he would be home late enough to slip in without getting another beating, day after day, 24/7. Today, however, was an unusual day. The weather was neither rain or sun, just a thick, smokey line of grey, white and the occasional charcoal smoke cloud drifting by. Noah knew today was gonna drag but, he couldn't help but turn his attention the the classroom door opening and a tall, thin, dark-haired (unlike Noah) boy walking in and apologising for being late; then being told to sit at the back of the classroom next the shy mahogany coloured hair boy who sat next to the transparent window where he could watch the cars zoom and drift past to and fro throughout the day. Being a sixteen year old was hard. Exams, revision clubs and abusive parents weren't a good mix- However this boy, who seems to be new, could be his potential friend or more. Noah new he couldn't mess this up. "Hey." spoke the deep voice of the handsome boy next the Noah, "I'm Nathan. How are you?" Nathan was truly handsome- with his good looking facial-shape and deep, rich, sapphire eyes that crinkled up when he smiled and laughed gently as the boy in front told a joke of what he'd heard over the summer. Nathan was slightly tanned and had dark, ebony hair that looked shiny under the dim light of the classroom. However handsome he was, and however much Noah liked his looks and thought he was deeply beautiful, Nathan probably wasn't gay and if he was, he probably wouldn't appreciate Noah for who he was anyway. Noah thought he should introduce himself, "Hey... um... I'm Noah. I'm okay I guess. sorry I'm a little shy and I don't have friends so I don't know if I'm rambling or just being nice. How are you?" Squeaked Noah softly but audible enough for Nathan the hear. Nathan smiled softly at how sweet and soft Noah is before replying back. "I'm okay thank you! It's okay you're not rambling, don't be sorry. Bloody hell it's boring in 'ere! When's break? Wanna hang out?" Noah smiled at Nathan's kind gesture before replying with an excited "Break's in fifteen minutes and of course you can! You know we're in here all day?" Nathan groaned softly. Noah gulped at how cute he was when he groaned and how cute he is. "I didn't know but, that's for telling me else I would've gone to English!" Nathan softly giggled and Noah joined in. Noah knew from that moment that today was going to be a good day whatever happens.
The school's ground was practically a field with a football pitch on and a withdrawn, blossom tree just further opposite the pitch but not too far away to hear the school's bell for next lesson. Break wasn't long at all, with a twenty minute rest, it was enough for the smokers to get away for a quick Fag and the footballs to have a little match of 12v12. This was enough until Lunch. Noah usually went and sat up against the candyfloss pink tree reading a book or writing in his little note pad of a poem that he'd thought about not long before jotting it down into his sketch book. However, today the sun was coming through ever so slightly and rays of the golden strings shone through the gaps of the thin branches of the tree- today Noah wasn't alone and today he had Nathan. Noah was hoping he would until the end of the year. Nathan slumped up against the tree and Noah stood in front of the boy. "Enjoying the view?" Nathan joked around as he caught Noah gazing at him in a trance of his beauty, "maybe" Noah shyly whispered still staring into the royal, blue eyes of this boy. Noah wasn't very tall or slim. He was five foot and seven compared to the six foot boy and Noah was a little chubby around the cheeks, whereas Nathan had a slim face and a lean figure with a sharp jawline. Nathan gazed back into the hazel, brownness of Noah's beauty. Noah slumped down next to Nathan and instantly opened his bag to grab the two piece twix in his bag, "Do you want a finger?" Nathan smiled and nodded taking one finger and Noah taking the other, "Thank you! You know Noah, nobody has ever been as nice as you have been with me today." Noah smiled and swallowed before breaking the silence, "Really? That's hard to believe as you're really pretty and cute an-" Nathan smiled and laughed slightly as Noah's cheeks grew flushed with embarrassment. "I know it's hard that but nobody in my old school seemed to appreciate me like you do" He replied, punching Noah's arm softly and the subtly winking at him. Nathan's head had a million thoughts going through it like "you're not gay but he's cute" and "Damn I wonder what would happen if i just kissed him?". He just kept these thoughts to himself though because however confused he was, he didn't want to hurt this cute boy who was actually nice to him to disappear like the others when he came out as Bisexual...
